In full: This was my first half marathon and really enjoyed it. Lots of people giving it a true festival atmosphere. I can't complain about the actual race day at all, it was an amazing experience and hope to do it again.
There was only one thing that annoyed me though. When I filled the form out I put down a completion time of about 2 hours 15. However, they put me in the 'sub 1:40' colour band, which worried me at the start. Hopefully they'll get it right next time but I'm not too annoyed now as I managed to complete it in just under 2 hours....WOOP WOOP :) Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: A very good big city race In full: Despite my dissappointment at not being able to run the full marathon due to a calf tear, I found the half marathon to have been just as rewarding an experience. The start was excellent, and organisation was superb (one gripe however - my number didn't arrive until 2 days before the race. I put this down to my tansfer from the full to the half marathon. However, a friend who did not transfer, had to queue on the day to recieve his - causing some anxiety!). There was an excellent 'buzz around the runners village, and it truly did feel like a 'festival of running'. The course was fast, flat-ish and well supported throughout. This event has all the hallmarks of a race capable of rivalling the Great North Run, and I shall be back to complete the full marathon next year! Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: One of my favourite races In full: This is a fabulously fun race through and around the beautiful city of Nottingham. There is a good variety of scenery, from the city centre, to some beautiful parks and by the river, ensuring it always feels fresh.
What really makes this event though is the brilliant organisation and the excellent support of the marshalls and spectators.
The only slight quibble is that the goody bag was a bit pathetic. Nice medal though. Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: Very well organised. In full: A good, well organised city marathon. Undulating 1st half and a rather flat but windy 2nd half. Can not fault it. Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: A pleasant run in the city In full: I travelled from Norwich to do this so I was hoping it would be worth the trip.... Fortunately it was! It's not the cheapest race in the world but all the road closures bottles of water and sports drinks have to be paid for some how. There is a large (10,000+) field but the start is well organised and you soon get in your stride. There is good support all way around and the end is well organised so there are no queues. Like I said not the cheapest but very well organised oh and I particularly like the medal! Date of review: September 11, 2011
