In short: Great first event by organisers
In full: Excellent pre-race information and on-the-day organisation.

This was my 8th half marathon and the support on route was the best I've experienced.

I'd trained for a 1:40 finish, and all was going well, but then the hills and the heat caused my body to rebel during the 17th km and thereafter every incline (of which there were many) was a great struggle. So I ended up a little miserable, but still very appreciative of the way the race was organised.

Mainly traffic free, which is a great accomplishment. With runners going past at least some of the water stations in both directions, there seemed plenty of opportunuties to stay topped up (unless you were right near back it seems, which must have been very disheartening).

In short: Well organised and welcoming event with good support and rewards
In full: Excellent event with great organisation, friendly helpful marshals both in the village and round the course. Clear parking and race village set up including free bag store and pre and post race massage. Medal superb quality and goodie bag well stocked with fruit and energy bar as well as magazine and free membership of Leisure Centre offers. Definitely recommend this for anyone to do next year.

In short: Good, well organised event with challenging sections
In full: Great first event. Good to have all the roads closed but not so easy for the supporters to get to parts of the course. Lots of comments about the start which I agree with. Also, would have liked a clearer finish marker. Maybe it's my age, but I couldn't see the finish flags very easily nor the clock! The big inflatable finishes are much better with the clock above.... from the 12 mile point it would have been nice to have a 500 yard mark too! Great marshalls and supporters and everything ran smoothly on the day. Next year ... maybe?!

In short: Harder than expected
In full: Very well organised race especially as it was a first time for the event. Course was very challenging, harder than I was expecting and isn't really a PB course in my opinion but a nice one all the same. Nice medal but goody bag was a bit of a let down. Well done to the organisers though.

In short: Great race, well-organised, and highly recommended. One small complaint - would have preferred water bottles to those awkward little cups!

In short: Excellent race considering it was the inaugural half marathon.
In full: Fantastic event with unparalled support at the village of Leigh, for which I must send my thanks to them all for giving me a much needed boost.
The race was extremely well organised considering it was the inaugural event although, I agree with some other comments about the starting gates and no side entrance.
I would also say the starting gates need to be spaced out more, as putting the 1.45/2.00 hour finish time together mean't a lot of people trying to get into a small space for the start.
Perhaps in future, the starting gates could have boards for every 15 minutes along with pace setters for the respective time, so you've got someone to chase to achieve your desired finish time.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I am very much looking forward to next year already.
Well done and thank you Tonbridge.
