In short: Hot and hard In full: What a great race but oh so terribly hot. Fantastic and friendly organisation, lovely medal and great goody bag. As the other commenter said, loads of club runners and also loads of women. Most them beat me too.
Husband children and dog all had a wonderful time. I'd love to do it again on a cooler day. Date of review: July 8, 2013
In short: Great scenery, great organization In full: First time for me and I can't fault it at all. Fantastic organization - plenty of drinks stations, cold sponges, hose pipe showers on what was an awfully hot day. Well marshalled and all smiling and clapping. Gave up all hope of a fast race in the heat and ran for enjoyment, I wasn't disappointed. Course is not easy but we all like a bit of a challenge. Great medal, goody bag, cakes and beer (more beer next year as it ran out early?) I will be back next year, hopefully for a cooler run. Well done Wadhurst Runners and the residents of Wadhurst. In full: This has to be the best organized race I have ever been to. The organizers had gone the extra length to put in loads of water/sponge stations due to the stifling heat.Thank you Wadhurst Runners. Due to the heat the race was hard and unlike last year I had to walk up the hills and was 20 minutes slower. But, it didn't matter the scenery and setting are 1st class. Medal and goody bag and cakes at the end were much appreciated. Well done to every one who was involved. I will be back for a 3rd year in 2014. Date of review: July 8, 2013
In short: The highlight of the year for me In full: What a fantastic race yet again put on by Albert and the team. Very, very hot but this just added to the village like atmosphere at the end when you can lie in a hay field with a pint of Harveys listening to the band while you recover. You need your strength back in order to cart off the loaded goody bag!
Extra loos this year (nice to see) and a piper who led the entrants down to the start line plus was there to greet us at the Rosemary Lane section.
This is how you put on not just a race but an event for the whole family - fantastic. Date of review: July 7, 2013
In short: Wow! In full: My first time of running this race and I was seriously impressed. Excellent organisation made the whole event faultless. Breathtaking scenery around Bewl reservoir and a mildly undulating course with the worst of the hills in the last mile. Marshalls, locals and walkers all very encouraging and supportive. Chilled water and lucozade at regular intervals around the course, and hose showers which were very welcome on what was a very hot day.
