In short: Thank goodness the bad weather held off!
In full: This was my second half-marathon, having completed the Roding Valley half last week in 2:14, I realised how much easier the Silverstone course was when I finished in 2:09. I was extremely pleased with my time which pretty much made the race special for me.

I was very impressed with the organisation, everything seemed to run smoothly. The marshalls and drinks people did a great job - I even got a "you're welcome" when I thanked someone for the Lucozade handed to me halfway around. Also found myself singing along to some tunes on my iPod - I must have been on a high!

I felt the atmosphere was a bit lacking and only a handful of supporters actually clapping and cheering people on. I know they're there to support the people they're with, but it helps all us runners to get encouragement from the sidelines - it's such a boost!

I appreciated the goody bag afterwards as I was starving and that nutty bar thing was just what I ordered! On one hand I agree the t-shirt could have fit a small elephant but on the plus side, it completely preserved my modesty when I was getting changed afterwards! The medal is very good quality too.

Thanks to the organisers for a great day!

In short: A great day - but hard work in the blustery conditions.
In full: Hard work on a typical Silverstone blustery day (even on nice days in the summer at the Grand Prix, it's often blustery).
My first Half Marathon, and at the moment I'm saying it'll be my last (that'll change though I'm sure as the year goes on - once the memories of the aching hips and back have gone).
Despite the aches I enjoyed the achievement of doing it.
All round very well organised event!

In short: Watch out for the cones
In full: Running with the pacers stopped me from going of to fast and I was well on my way for a sub 2hr when I had severe mussel cramp in my calf. Hobbled home on a time of 2:04 not bad but could do better.

What I did experience was a lot of bunching when the runners move of the track and start to run in the infield. Guy next to me run straight into a cone (apparently placed to warn runners of a danger) he was flat on his back cluching his groin. Hope he made it back okay.

In full: Thanks to everybody who organised this race. This is the 2nd time I've done this and found it hard but got a PB. Well done to everybody who took part.

In short: Great day "Weather was Good" managed to beat PB. Organisation spot on. Goodie bag was poor. Could fit the whole family in t-shit.

In short: My 4th time, back for a 5th next year !
In full: Yet again, a very well organised and efficient run - facilities fantastic, baggage people great fun - I think they were from Dagenham Running Club .. compared to most half-marathons I thought it was 'good' for spectators to be able to see runners more than once and to move around the course .. very happy to get round in sub 2hours .

In short: Very long half marathon
In full: The biggest problem I have with this race is the distance - it was 13.4 miles according to my GPS, and a lot of other people around me at the finish were saying the same - quite frustrating as I was trying to get sub 1.40 - and my 'official' time was 1.41.

Other than that, very good race - disappointing T-shirts though - cheap and huge.

In short: Unique setting, great build up race, exposed but fast
In full: Numbers seem to be dropping, probably due to weather history. Not best place for spectators. Welll organised, but lacked buzz of previous years. Surprised caterers in restaurant packed up so early, commercially folly, methinks, as many people wanted shelter and warm food/drink at the end.

In short: Always enjoyable - and nice weather at last!!
In full: Fifth year in a row for me so I am probably biased! Thanks to the Runners World 10 min mile pacer who dragged me through to a far quicker finish than at Wokingham and made me realise that I should perhaps stop using THE KNEE as an excuse for poor performance this year!

Nice tee-shirt this year - a perfect fit for me (which probably means its fat too big for most of the other runners!!)
