In short: true cross-country through beautiful parkland - tough but exhilirating
In full: Have walked through this lovely park with kids and dogs many times but never done race till today. True cross-country unlike some anaemic races that bear that description. Very varied and challenging terrain. If you want to be up with leading pack ensure you are at the front as quite a few bottlenecks, but not PB material and taht's not the point. Hugely enjoyable.

In short: Loads of hills, loads of mud & lots of fun!
In full: Note to self next time start at the front & avoid the queues! Thought I'd see how it panned out given there was no route available beforehand so hung back at the start - mistake too many pinch points & walking at the drop of a hat, was great after a couple of miles when things opened out a bit - nice blast for a Sunday morning, good course and local so will be back...

In short: Glorious mud.
In full: Huge fun in lovely surroundings. Only one grumble; too many runners who wanted to walk as soon as it got hilly or muddy and slowed all the rest of down to a slow walk on the narrow paths. Otherwise, wonderful!

In short: MUD!
In full: First time doing this race for me. Incredible fun. Mud, mud and more mud! Well organised with lots of marshals supporting you all round the course. Water obstacle was a lot deeper that expected, but managed to wash off most of the mud (for a couple of minutes at least!). Steps at the end nearly finished me. Normally manage 10km in 35ish minutes, this took me 44 so not a course for p.b. Sign me up for next year.
