In short: Nice weather.....
In full: The last race in the HRRL season and the warm weather bought out a large field and some good crowd support.

After two exceptional races (Stubbington and Eastleigh)I was hoping to exorcize (or exercise) the demons as Totton is usually my bogey race. But once again the demons came back to haunt me. I had a terrible race eventually completing the course in around 50 mins, I was hoping for 44mins.

Back to the race. This is an excellent course if you are looking for a PB or fast time. The course itself is very urban taking in a housing estate and industrial estate. Marshalling and course set up was excellent, although the first 1K got a bit congested. Although it was an urban course you never felt threatened by the traffic.

Race headquarters including the start and finish was also excellent with lots of off road areas to warm up/cool down.

Thanks to all involved. Will definately be back next year.

In short: Totton 10k
In full: The water station at 6k was too late in the heat ( and I'm a sub 40 runner so I don't know what it was like for those who had to go longer in the heat ). Most people suffered significantly so it's a shame there wasn't a re-think on the day and another station put at 3k for the unusual conditions.
Also, having the station at exactly 6k meant I couldn't get my split time.
Otherwise, the organisation was excellent, as I expected, and the momento is beautiful.

In short: This was my wifes and I first race. I was a smoker and gave up feb 2007, i then took up running to help me quit. I managed 49min and 7sec. My wife ran a 1hr 4min race very happy with the results and Totton was a great start race for me.

In short: Fast Season Opener
In full: Everyone and his dog were there to get their PB's (if they'd started their training soon enough). 3Km out along a road, a loop round a housing estate, a loop round an industrial estate, then 3km straight home. Just focus on the time, theres no point looking at anything else!

Good glass tumbler memento to commemorate 25 years of the Totton 10K.

In short: One of the best organised races Ive been to. Secure bag storage a great bonus, as I was on my own at this race. Engraved glass at the end was a nice touch too. Results came out pretty quick too. So well done organisers!!

In short: Fast Race on a Flat Course
In full: The race is a PB magnet, took more than 2 mins off mine this year. However the course is dull and the HQ is getting shabbier every year, pity the poor kids who get taught at the school. The organisation is fine and tea and cakes are welcome. The momento is nice given the low entry fee. I'll be back for another PB next year.
