In short: Where were the downhill parts?
In full: Overall a well marshalled race, but it just seemed to drag on forever, especially the last 3 miles. It all seemed uphill too! Scenery not as good as the Needles XC Half Marathon in May, and strangely this was harder going too.

In short: Hilly & Hot
In full: Being a country bumpkin & not a towny, the exhaust fumes between Yaverland & Bembridge added a new dimension. Not much the organisers can do about this, inless they reroute the race up Culver Cliff!
I would suggest that on Bembridge Marina, runners are directed on to the footpath on the right hand side. It is common sense after all & needs just 2 extra marshals, one at the beginning & one at the foot of that "mountain " at the other end. We held the traffic up magnificently, creating a hazard at the same time. Thanks for the extra sponge stations.

In short: A really well organised club race
In full: My third Island half, & I'm sure it gets tougher. A really good field & well organised by Ryde Harriers. A really warm day for an enjoyable though challenging race, with a hideous climb in the last mile. Thanks to all at RH.

In short: Where's the finish?
In full: A driving easterly in February with a scarey wind chill did not dampen the hardy few. The finish was freaky as i was told i had finished but i could not see any signs as my head was down because of threat of being shot blasted by driving sand. Top course and i made new friends.

In short: A bitterly cold and windy day but still a lovely race !
In full: I felt like a real die hard runner turning up for this race! It was a really cold and windy morning with the sand from the beach being blown over the sea wall! The start was quite hard due it being into the wind and the sand being blown into my face, I nearly ran into some one as I could hardly see. Once I got off the seafront It was a lovely scenic race although the first mile seemed to take me a long time I think maybe it was more than a mile ? A big thankyou to all the support from the marshalls they all looked frozen especially the ones on the sea front! Also nice to see some photos of the race this was a big plus especially so quickly !

In short: A blustery day up and down hills on the island
In full: Given the weather I thought the marshalls were great with lots of encouragement. The wind was blowing sand so strong off the beach at the finish I could have done with goggles ! Two big hills but a good race to run again next year. Thanks to the club and other runners.

In short: A great event on a freezing day. I don't care about the finish line being moved, to have any marshalls on a day like that was a credit to the organisers and at the end of the day it was still 10 miles!
