In short: A fair course and lovely atmosphere for a first timer
In full: Can't really add much more than has already been said before. It was all good. Challenging on lots of levels - undulations, 2 laps, the grassy bit a the end - but it's not meant to be easy is it?
Loved that my bag was being held out to me as I approached the baggage area at the end! Thank you HRRs!

In short: The best marathon / road-race I've ever run...flawless
In full: I have done far too many marathons, including London twice and Paris, and a number of smaller 'local' ones. I have done a large number of shorter distance road races, and quite a few ultras...
...and this is the best organised, prettiest scenery and strongest supported / marshalled event it has been my pleasure to do. I run out of praise to compliment the organisers.
There was even an ice-cream van at the end to enjoy the sunshine in.
Awesome!

In short: Excellent race, brilliant organisation at start, on the course and at the end. Post race massage was bliss...goody bag saw me through a 3 hour drive home. Absolute bargain, would have paid more as its for charity. Ace :)

In short: The thoughtful touches add a shine to an already-excellent race
In full: So you've run loads of races before, and they've been pretty well organised. This one is too. But other races don't have these thoughtful touches:
- announcing to the crowd, waiting to watch the start, that if they wanted to get the best view of the runners, they should drive to a particular spot on the figure-of-8 course where a carpark had been set aside for them (!)
- the marshalls with their "you-can-do-it" attitude, including (and thanks for this) the one at the far end of the course with his car stereo blaring out encouragement
- people from the neighbourhood with bowls of jelly babies, orange quarters and *plenty* of clapping, even when I was the only person running past
- the bag drop staff, who had my bag in my hands before I even got to the pick-up point
- the ability to leave your own drinks, in advance, at any of 5 water stations (you struggle to drink from half-filled plastic cups like me? Don't bother: BYO bottles)
- the ability of the marshalls to get your personal drink into your hands almost magically - makes you feel like the elite runners!
- and thanks to the girls with the red pom-poms; definitely the best cheering of the day :-)

Thanks, HRR, brilliant race.

In short: Challenging but rewarding
In full: This was my 1st marathon and i was apprehensive after seeing the reviews from last year regarding the undulations. Well yes it was challenging but i am so happy i did it. The scenery was great and the support was excellent (the girls with the pom poms who appeared everywhere were great). The marshalls were brilliant and the sponges a great idea. The medal was really nice but next time i will remember the sunscreen as i intend to be back next year.
