In short: great for a PB, good for beginners In full: Had a great time running this race, managed a PB so very pleased. I like busy races so this was perfect, although in few places track narrow so difficult to overtake. Not a great scenery and it would be great to have less traffic but this is only the minor point. Overall great race, nice that fete was nearby so kids don't get bored, great goody bag and medal, will do it again next year. Date of review: May 3, 2010
In short: Pleasant countryside race, well organised In full: Well organised fast race, managed a PB despite the wind. Thought the stretch through the open field between 8-9km into a howling gale had ruined any chance I had! Lots of supportive marshalls and spectators shouting encouragement plus good finish by the fete where families congregated to cheer everyone home. Extra special thanks to Mr K for the encouragement on the course! Date of review: May 3, 2010
In short: Mostly fast race bar 1k on pebbly paths through an exposed field In full: nicely fast race a couple of ups and downs, but sheer windy exposed nature of the field at 8k, coupled with some offroad oebbly paths spoilt the pb potential a bit
However, a good race on a bank holiday;. Very good standard at the front for what isn;t that big a field. Reading the host club have a lot of fasties and they showed up...somuch so that my 36:43 probably is only top 20, when in other local 10ks this would be right up the top 10 Date of review: May 3, 2010
In short: A good village-green 10K In full: A new course this year, with no killer hills but a couple of lengthy leg-sapping gradients which to be honest are compensated for by similar downhill stretches. As always, well organized by Reading Roadrunners with loads of marshals on hand. Well worth the trip. Date of review: May 3, 2010
In short: A straight forward well organised race In full: Changed course, and changed for the better I think. Not flat, but the steepest bits are all downhill and the climbs are steady. Tough into the wind today towards the end, but a nice course and plenty of enthusiastic marshals. Good for the family as well with the village fair at the finish as that makes for plenty of spectators at the end. Well done to Reading Roadrunners for another well organised event. In short: My local In full: Second time I have run this and the course was totally different (in a good way!). Good little race and starts and finishes near to the local fete and a choice of pubs, what more could you want for a bank holiday monday! Finish area was a bit disorganised, didn't realise I was supposed to stay in line so ducked out, then had to get back in again for my result to be recorded, so will have dropped a few places! In short: Flat, fast course - nice event In full: A flat, fast course complete with a village fete - what more could you ask for. Could even enter on the day. Well marshalled around the course. Well worth turning up for & I`ll be back for some more. Well done Reading Road Runners. Date of review: May 6, 2009
In short: Very Enjoyable In full: Very enjoyable and definitely one for a PB. Organisation was good and very well marshalled although I thought those coming in around the 50 minute mark looked like they had a long wait to get their medals!
Very Very good value at a tenner though and was well worth the trip from South Wales.
