In short: Great race. Well organised. Well done to all involved! In full: Good, more or less flat course and traffic free. Large spread of runners including some "more seniors" like me. Suitable for all abilities but for those who want one, definite PB potential. Very well organised and marshalled. I enjoyed the whole evening and the rain more or less kept off. In short: Petrol head running heaven!! In full: This was my first 10k having started running in Jan after decades of smoking. It was a pleasure to run this track being a massive GP fan and the fact that I wasn't last made it even better. The "on the night" registration was busy but quickly sorted. I will definately do this again next year and probably opt to run the half Marathon... my lungs have never felt better!!! Date of review: May 10, 2012
In short: Great well organised race In full: First race in the EMGP Series and a good 10K for a PB which I achieved. Did the HM here back in March so knew what to expect and the excitement has now worn off for me as the long straights are just so boring. Silston Joggers do a top job organising this and everything went very smooth, even the rain held off for us. Nice medal and bottle of water to finish, cakes and coffee if you want them. I would recommend this for any runner, I'm a just under the hour finisher and there were plenty of people behind me, its lovely and flat so no big hassle. Traffic wasn't great getting out of carpark but it didn't take to long. I am sure I will do it again next year as its on my doorstep but just use headphones to kill the boredom of those long straights. Date of review: May 10, 2012
In short: traffic free, quick course, excellent organisation In full: top quality & friendly organisation, quick smooth wide course, dead cert PB potential, traffic free, easy access & parking, good loos and refreshments, more-or-less flat, 'scenic' in being greenish and 'special GP Circuit' backdrop, friendly marshals and good support from spectators, lovely medal, even the weather settled for the race, what more can be said except top marks all round + see you again next year... In short: Super slick orgainsation & definate PB potential for all In full: This was my first for the Silverstone 10k, and after my Half disappointment there, this one changed all that. The organisation was so slick. from registering on the eve, collecting my number, access to toilets, parking and baggage storage. Silson Runners do themselves proud. The only odd thing compared to the Addidas Half, was the eery silence around the track, except for the sound of footfall. Really great turnout too for a mid-week evening race. Will most certainly be back next year to bag another PB. Date of review: June 1, 2011
In short: Excellent - well worth the mid week trip In full: First time at this race but definitely recommend to all runners of any ability. Great venue and flat course - though personally not being a F1 fan I can appreciate how fans of this sport get a thrill outta running around the track!
Superbly organised - entries on the night was a doddle, in fact, everything from the parking to the toilet facilities was.
Well done & thanks to the organisers, marshalls and volunteers.
I'll definitely be back next to attempt to beat my time! Date of review: May 10, 2011
In short: Very well organised race, good chance of a PB In full: The organisation was excellent, from the collection of numbers through to the handing out of water at the end of the race. The opportunity to run on the Silverstone race track was a bonus. Smooth surface and great PB potential. Will be back next year. Date of review: May 10, 2011
