In short: Tough as nails but very enjoyable ! In full: A big thanks to Steve for organising this and also to the villagers of Milton Lilborne for letting me have an excuse for visiting their lovely village . There was mud , hills and water all in large proportions for my first race of this kind and the view from the top of Giants grave was stunning . The cakes after were some of the best i have ever had ! Enough waffle from just one ( sorry two ) words , JUST DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Date of review: January 13, 2014

In short: Mud, floods, devilish descents & cruel climbs that make your quads scream for mercy!!! In full: My second year running the Rough n Tumble and I'll be back next year for sure. Great organisation, a brilliantly tough course that forces you to think all the way round and approx. 5 metres worth of tables laden with sensation home made cakes...need I say more??? In short: Mud,floods and smiles... In full: A well organised race with help from the villagers who were out in force. A fully flooded road in the first mile set the scene for a truly memorable ten miles. Cakes were good too. Thank you.. Date of review: January 12, 2014
In short: just how this tough race should be,hilly, muddy, and bit flooded, great fun In full: Great start to my running year, slipping round Wiltshire, thanks to the locals and marshalls, managed to stay upright this year that was a bonus and course pb Date of review: January 12, 2014
In short: Energy sapping mud and one very tough hill (not the only hill though)! In full: Very well organised tough course, which would be scenic if it weren't for the mist.
Marshalls were superb. A big thumbs up to the local population who allowed runners to park on their land (race was in danger of being called off because the field which usually acts as a car park was partially flooded).
I struggled to stay on my feet on certain parts of the course, even though I was wearing 'good' trail shoes!!
Definitely worth getting out of bed for. It had nothing to do with the cakes on offer - honest. Date of review: January 12, 2014
In full: Great run, mud & hills galore. Slipping & sliding everywhere and some more. Trail shoes a must and even with those was a struggle. But will be back next year. Find it amazing the times the front runners achieved. Just how do they do it :-) Date of review: January 12, 2014
In short: Mud, flood, interestingly narrow trails.. and did anyone mention the hills? In full: Second time for me and every bit as good as the first. Great Marshalls smiling and encouraging everyone in what must have been pretty cold weather for them. Fantastic course, the narrow paths in a few places just improve the atmosphere. You can soon get past, or in my case, be passed! Thanks everyone, especially the locals for putting up with us when you've had floods to contend with. Date of review: January 12, 2014
In short: tough but loved it! In full: Now I have mostly done road races to date, so thought I would take on a cross country race. Bearing in mind the recent weather the course was mud, mud and more mud. Oh, and can add in some flooded road too. A couple of the hills were really very steep and one in particular was walking pace only. However it was a fab race and I totally loved it. I found myself slipping and sliding my way around but with a big smile on my face. Fellow runners were friendly, with the we're all in it together vibe. Organisation very good and all marshalls super friendly. No PB potential unless you want to beat your time for last years race but none the less, a high possibility I will be there again next year!
