In short: Nice run in the morning, pity some of the scenic part removed In full: Very nice run out of pride park and through the center of Derby, pity you don't run through the recreation ground any more, which would add more scenery.Good finish indide Pride park stadium and lot of support around the course with friendly marshalls. See you next year. Date of review: April 20, 2008

In short: Great race, good course, very enjoyable....will be back. In full: Generally was really impressed with this race. Despite previous reviews, I actually quite liked the city-centre section as that went quite quick and other than a couple of bridges, the course was relatively flat. The finish into Pride Park is always something novel and different. £16 is expensive for a 10k but 2500 runners is a big field to organise through a citycentre I guess, and the Mizuno T-shirt is fantastic, better than most cheap T-shirts you get and archive away in a cupboard.......will be back in 2009. In short: Overall good, could be improved In full: Good atmosphere, the warm-up session was fantastic. There was too much of the city centre with a lot of twists and turns, bring back the bit in the park next to the river! There were a few more hills than previously, but the spectators and marshalls were great and really kept you going. Shame there was no goody bag for the cost of the race (good quality T-shirts though!) Date of review: April 20, 2008

In short: Never Again! In full: I won't be doing this one again. It's mainly through an industrial estate, on badly maintained roads, then it twists & turns through the city centre, up & down pavements and over pot holed roads. Then it finishes in Pride Park stadium, which sounds good, but unfortunately there are right angled turns to slow you down further. It must add at least a minute to times. Possibly a good one for fun runners but not if you're after a decent time. Also the entry fee is very high, with a serious lack of goodies afterwards, the obligatory t-shirt, a bottle of water & a banana! Surely a big city race finishing in a Premiership football stadium could attract some sponsers to give away decent freebies. Date of review: April 20, 2008

In short: One of the best 10Ks around In full: A great race but thought the course was a bit more hilly than in previous years. My Sports Tracker measured the race to be 10.25KM. Date of review: April 20, 2008
