In short: Big field little start. In full: 2nd time for half(done full twice 04 & 06). Some great bits, embankment venue is great as parking & race site together. Start is always crowded, maybe move it to start on Trent Bridge(4 lanes),or further back up Embankment? Ran 78mins, but course not flatter/faster than last year as advertised. Never got iso drink?? Relay runners in road doing laces waiting for his start? 'goody bag' (less said). The good bits, half well supported, traffic free, the climb into Woolerton Park outstanding(le tour came to mind for me to!). Free parking, toilets, massage, staorage. After my half cycled to the Watersports centre to support my club full runners. 2nd half is an afterthought, some drink stations did run out of drinks/iso before final runners!!! Well done all volunteers, marshalls, supporters, got given water by one of Notts Ceasers American footie team! Date of review: September 18, 2007

In short: Really good fun (as much as 26 miles of pain can be) In full: Marathon number 8. Really enjoyed it. Had a fairly slack summer of training, but the course still dragged a 2:42 out of me despite the wind. Loads of support throughout so thanks to them. Could do with carpet on the rocky parts, really hurt in my race shoes. I'll be back next year. No wind please. Date of review: September 18, 2007

In short: Great organisation....but a very tight and twisty first six miles! Not ideal for the number of people that this event attracts. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Well organised and great marshals. In full: 1st half was undulating in places, but I certainly didn't notice any real "hills". The bit through the park was the closest it came to this with a narrow path through the crowds making you feel like you were going up L'Alpe D'Huez - Excellent! Well organised with plenty of drinks stations and excellent marshals (thank-you all). I felt a few of the mile markers were out (4-5 & 25-26). As the race split I did find it a little dispiriting - one moment I was running with a crowd of people and then there was one bloke 100 yards up the path! I reckon 90% opted for the half. The 2nd half was also fairly rural and mainly offroad. I can't really blame the organisers for this as they can't close the City all day for the 1,000 of us who did the full distance. Anyway some of the rutted paths were uncomfortable under foot and everyone else has commented about the lake and the headwind for the last 5 miles. Still managed a PB by 7 mins and achieved GFA for London. Would certainly do it again. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Overall a good race, In full: Second year running this event. Very well organised, loads of toilets and well sign-posted. Car park exit (car park A) took a long time getting out of, ok for those early finishers. Not quite as challenging as last years, but when you live where it is mainly flat it seemed very hilly and my calves ache like hell. I have done the last two London marathons and have enjoyed them because its London, but this race is special to me too. Goody bag should have been a little better as its not particularly cheap to compete in. Thanks guys Jane Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Well organised event worth doing once or for PB In full: Had a good day out at this event with my wife. Both of us did the Half, and we both got PB's. Result! The organisation on the day was very good, excellent tents with stuff you might actually want to buy (we did), plentiful toilets (other events PLEASE take note) and generally helpful marshalls on hand. Course itself was not really memorable - typical city centre fare, although the crowd support throughout was very good. The finish area was well organised, and you felt quite special at the end. Constructive criticism just relates to the entry cost and the poor quality goody bag. I think most runners would expect more for £23.50. And I'm glad I didn't do the marathon reading some of the reviews. Not a race I'd do again, but nice to try once to see what it's like, had a grand day out and thanks for the PB. Oh yes - well stocked and manned water stations throughout where much appreciated. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: A great event to part take in. In full: This was my first 1/2 marathon, and what an event to take part in. Crowds along the streets, in the parks, and plenty at the finish area. Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Extremely well organised with fantastic marshalls and a great atmosphere from the good people of Nottingham, the second half of the marathon is poor as the unending trip around Holme Pierre Point becomes tedious Date of review: September 17, 2007
