In short: A great, well organised race
In full: This was my first time running the Robin Hood marathon. The pre-race literature was all very good. The organisation was fantastic. The race village kept my kids happy all day. What more can you ask for.

I arrived at 9:15am and getting into car park A was a little stressful. The 2nd half was tough but then I had not trained fully so was expecting it to be harder than usual.

Thanks to all the marshals and everyone involved you did a great job

In short: Well organised with a busy and scenic first half, quite lonely second half
In full: My second year here and again the organisation was great. Thanks to all involved. The second half seemed a bit less bleak and lonely this year, helped by the motivational stuff at the water park, but probably also due to me being in less pain. Had trained far better and took 28 minutes off last year's time.

Will definitely come back.

In short: My favorite of 2010 (9th race)
In full: This was my favorite of the 9 marathons that i have completed this year. The pre and post race organisation was superb, and the "race village" reminded me of a scaled down version of London but with supporter access and more things to do.

The course in my opinion is set up primarily for the 1/2 marathon that takes place in tandom with the marathon, taking in the University grounds, the city centre and other leafy parks.

The marathon then heads out to the Water complex and in my opinion it was hard to continue to pound out the miles round an uninspiring lake. However, i appreciate that it must be near impossible to find the perfect course that ticks everyones ideas of racing motivation.

I will definately be back, as i set a new PB and managed to finish under 4 hours for the 1st time ever.

Thank you to all that helped on the day giving up their time so that I and thousands of others could spend the morning/afternoon running rounnd Nottingham.

For those that are thinking of running a half or marathon in the future this is one of the best.

In short: My most enjoyable race this year.
In full: Excellent race, 1st time I've ran here, I did the half marathon and really enjoyed it. I'm planning on coming back next year and having a bash at the full marathon. the only down side was if you wanted a T-shirt you had to pay more money on top of what was already a fairly expensive half mara, but lets be honest other than that petty gripe it was an excellently organised event.

In short: Another PB this year in the Half
In full: Again I managed a PB on a course that certainly pushes you but the support you get is a credit to Nottingham. There was one thing I would like to point out was the appearance of bollards at the top of the castle hill. Not sure how long they have been there but nearly went straight into one. Maybe next time they could be removed for the race or stewards place in front of them. But again a great race. Would also like to say well done to the people who did the full marathon as the 2nd part of the race is tough and hot!

In short: A great event
In full: This was my first marathon and it was quite a testing course.

I agree with comments others have made suggesting a split start as the half`ers really got in the way as did the weaving relay runners during a chaotic first 6 miles or so. Also the tight turns, switchbacks, canal paths and the soul destroying Pierrepoint section made it a tough `part 2` added to by the warm weather in Nottingham. That said, the crowd support was great and the supplies of water and Lucozade were in abundance and there was plenty for the family to do back at the race base whilst I toiled for 4 hours in the sun!

Although it is quite expensive (especially if you bought a t-shirt), the goody bag, support and medal were befitting of the event and the RHM is a credit to its city.
