In short: My fourth Robin Hood and another mostly enjoyable experience!
In full: Great organisation, very supportive crowds and marshalls, especially encouraging on the second half this year. Water stations, medals etc etc all excellant!

Not sure about all the route changes, first half seems hillier and there are stil alot of tight twists and turns, but still potentially quick.

Unfortunately I hit the wall at 23 miles this year. But thanks to support of the many paramedics on hand, and runners (thanks to Kevin, hope you finished well), I recovered enough to comfortably run to the finish and still avoid a PW (personal worst)!

In short: Lovely race. Not as hilly as others make out. And a PB to boot!
In full: My first Robin Hood experience, and I really enjoyed it. Organisers deserve full credit as it really did seem to operate like clockwork.

Running club buddies - and reviews on here - had warned me about it being very hilly to start off with. Have to say, though, it's not that bad - a couple of slopes to 'think about' (mile 2 by the castle and miles 6 and 8 in the park), but it could be a lot worse.

Nice and scenic, espesh in the park bit. Crowd support is good, too.

And I've been training (and battling shin splints) for months, with the ultimate aim to go sub 1.50.

My time? 1.49.59! Talk about cutting it fine!!!

In short: Loved every minute of my first Half Marathon !!
In full: This was my first attempt and I was a bit wary as had seen reviews saying it was hilly.... I didn't find that.. there are some inclines but I didn't find these as challenging as my local running routes.

A well organised event... great weather and lots of support made for a really good time... Thanks organisers !!

In short: Very well organised. Some hills for the first 8 miles but flat afterwards
In full: It's a combined half + full marathon. It splits half way. I did the half last year then decided to do a full in 2010 because I enjoyed it so much. It's easy to get to the starting line, not need to wait for hours before running. I was 15sec off my marathon PB despite hills. Very happy. A lot less people doing the full so you can run on a straight line after mile 13. Much more enjoyable than big city marathons.

In short: Expensive but worth it.
In full: This is the second time I've done this race and found it alot harder than last year. I'd forgotten how hilly it actually was although somehow managed to take 7 mins off my previous time and finish in a new PB of 1:35.
Great atmosphere from the locals cheering everyone on - it really does help.
Great organisation and well marshalled.
It is expensive but you can see this with the facilities and coverage. I can take my family and they have something to do whilst I'm pegging it around.

In short: Very will organised marathon
In full: Another well organised race which is hard to find fault with. Plenty of parking right next to the race village, loads of well stocked drink stations and great goody bag and medal.

There must be something wrong with me as I quite like the section around the water sports centre. You get there around 18 miles and by the time you have slogged round it you are at 22 miles and well on the way home. Seems to make the second half seem shorter to me.
