In short: The "must-do" off-road marathon with spectacular scenery.
In full: The route, the checkpoints, the post-race meal are what make this race, and have remained largely unchanged since the early "Seven Sisters" events. The new organisers have wisely kept these things and are starting to add improvements such as secure baggage and a commentator at the finish. Congratulations to the organisers for maintaining the essence of what is a superb event. Please thank all the helpers that contributed to an excellent day - including your connections to high places that provided perfect weather conditions!

In short: My first marathon and what an introduction!
In full: I think its all been said in previous reviews, awesome.

Thank you to the marshals, rotary club and other volunteers. Particularly the Coastguard chaps on the seven sisters (I realy needed that chunk of mars bar).

I had said that I would only do one marathon, but I think I may well be back next year.

In short: Achieved my goal of completing and within my target time..
In full: Expected the odd hill but they felt like mountains at times... You cannot fault the organisation / atmosphere. Will I be back next year...? At this moment in time my legs are saying not but time will tell!!!
I think a big thanks needs to go out to all the marshalls / helpers for giving up their time to help stage these events... THANKS!!!

In short: tough, far outside any pb potential, but the views from the cliff tops are spectacular and will stay with me for a long time

In short: WOW - WHAT A COURSE!
In full: I was told I was mad to choose this as my first marathon, but what an experience. Ok, so it may be easy to beat my "PB" in a "normal" marathon, but you could not beat the support of the marshals, spectators (e.g. dog walkers and other people going about their normal Saturday business), other runners/walkers. Maybe not for the faint-hearted but it is exactly what it says on the tin "not a race, but a personal challenge". I'll definitely be back next year (assuming my legs forgive me!).
