In short: A very straightforward race that is ideal for a PB. Quite a clubby event.

In short: Delivered what it advertised
In full: My first 10K and I wanted to make sure my intro into a longer race was well organised with KM markings, a straigtforward, well marked course, water and easy parking. This race does all of that and has very friendly marshalls, good organisation, excellent chip timings and I was thrilled with my bronze medal! Thanks to organisers - good show!

In short: An ok 10k
In full: A clubby affair, no doubt, but since running is the least snobby sport I have ever encountered, this should never intimidate anyone. It's indisputably urban soulless going out, but pleasant enough running back with the river on the right-hand side. Very well organised car parking and on the route, only downside to organisation being the lack of a supervised baggage hold. Certainly quick, with high PB potential. All told ... ok, not bad. Hope the runner who needed medical assistance inside the last km was all right.

In short: One of the best 10Ks in the South East
In full: I set my PB here last year so it will always be a favourite. First 5K is fast and furious along the roads, second 5k tougher as you struggle for grip on the tow path. Marshalling excellent, facilities excellent, organisation excellent. Hope to be back next year to achieve somewhere nearer my 2006 time!

In short: It does what it says on the tin -
In full: - it's a 10k in Elmbridge. This is not a race I could personally ever get excited about but that is not meant as a negative comment!
It is a very well organised flat, fast 10k, half off road and traffic free with some lovely scenery along the river.
Yes it's full of club runners but I think that's a good thing!
It's a really good race to practice even pacing, negative splits or whatever you are trying to achieve, as the out and back course is so simple with no nasty surprises.
I won a free sports massage as a spot prize which was an excellent incentive for hanging around until the prizegiving!

In short: Bit clubby as a non-member runner but good fast run
In full: Perhaps I ought to join a club having said that!! This is a good quick race. I like the gold, silver, bronze medal arrangements - my goal this year was to get a silver which I just managed. Couple of minor niggles - the start could be better organised with anticipated time markers and an energy drink at the end would go down well in this weather. Minor moans though. Well worth getting up for.

In short: Like Marmite - you either love it or hate it.
In full: I had been warned in advance that this was a rather "dull" course - you run 5k in one direction, turn onto the towpath and then run 5k back to the finish. Well, this is exactly what the course is but I rather enjoyed it - no surprises to be had!

The start was efficient and on time. Marshals were at every junction keeping the cars at bay. A water station was provided, and I had no trouble on the towpath (I dodged a stray dog at one point, although I know one person wasn't so lucky and took a tumble).

Its a fast course, where you need to push harder in the second half as the towpath surface isn't as quick. Electronic timing at the finish ensured results were available within minutes of finishing.

Thanks to Elmbridge for putting on a well organised race.

In short: Go!
In full: I enjoyed this. The first 5k on the road is quick, well marshalled and the scenery isn't a problem if your concentrating on the runner in front and actually racing. The towpath was a nice diversion and is much better than the ankle killer section further up by Richmond.

It's fast, flat and the start is a melee but it's a strong crowd all wanting to make this 10k one of their best toward the end of the Road season. There was even a certain local Irish elite lady to contend with.
The atmosphere is great if a seasoned club runner, you end up knowing half the people who take part and it only enforces the reason to join a club by making the whole occasion more worthwhile.
Organisation was great, results were up almost immediately thanks to SportsSystems, km markers visible and accurate and medals are nice too (Gold for top 100, silver for top 200 and bronze for rest).
It may seem a bit clubby, but it's not a bad thing, it's great to see so many people involved in athletics!
Definitely will do again and lets see if my club can make it 3 years on the trot for the Men's team win next year.
