In short: exellant race In full: well organised race.Lots of support from local people.Easy for any family or friends to spectate and see you on route(by car!!) . fellow runneers were very friendly and chatted to lots of people -who helped get me a PB. Loved the race, definatley will do it again (not quite sure about going down under the subway-that hurt!!). Fantastic race.Thank you Abingdon Date of review: October 19, 2009
In short: Fab! In full: Wonderful race with the friendliest, most supportive marshalls ever. At the end of the race, one of the marshalls was leaving just as I was heading back to my car, which was parked a long way away, and she drove me right to it. Thanks Margaret, you made my day! In short: If you are going to run a PB, it'll be here In full: The course is not pancake flat but in a marathon, you don't want it to be. The undulations are very small and its a perfect PB course.
The grandstand finish is good fun and the hot drinks & hot showers help this race stand out - well done on that.
In Abingdon, the general public were all very supportive and a big shout goes out to the lady in her 60s/70s who cycled past us shouting about having to speed off and not support us because she was late for the hairdressers. Genius.
Marshalls were excellent, though I am still not sure about the loud hailer at 24 miles :o)
All in all an excellent day topped off by a seven minute PB. Nice. Date of review: October 19, 2009
In short: excellent marshalling/post race facilities. In full: the marshalls were very good and incredibly supportive-thanks to you all it is much appreciated.slightly congested in the early stages but what lovely running conditions. the cars/traffic is slightly hazardous in places and again numerous runners completely disregarded the no mp3 rule-idiots. the finish is great and a nice hot shower was most welcome-cheers to the bag storage team. one small gripe though, I finished in 3 47 so was surprised to be told no medium t-shirts left, they had all gone. why fill in what size I want then have it written on my number if not enough in my size has been ordered. normally dont care about this if its a cheap cotton one but these looked good and the small I was given makes me look like the only gay in the village bloke !! anyway, my running oppo reduced his pb from 3 39 to 3 32 in his 57th marathon so a memorable day. to repeat-marshalls, fantastic.
In short: PBs galore :o) In full: Well organised race, great marshalling and support. A treat to run on a track for the first time and surprised to get a technical t-shirt at the end - bonus! All-in-all a great race, thank you! Date of review: October 18, 2009
