In short: Great organised run
In full: This was my first time around Bewl and found it be a fun but tough race. The weather wasn't ideal with heavy rain before the race and again around the 2 hour mark but for the majority it was ideal. The route was muddy in parts but not a major issue and there were some places where it was difficult to overtake other runners. The big hill climbs from 10 miles onwards presented a challenge. What made this race great though was the organisation along the course with the good marshalling, plentiful supply of fluids and the wet sponges. The supply of free cakes and beer as well as a band at the finish line provided a nice finish to the event. The goody bags were great compared to most races. If you're looking for a fun long distance run without any interest in a PB then this is worth doing.

In short: Stunning.
In full: My first time, loved it, fairly challenging course, well organised, plenty of water/lucozade/jelly babies. At the finish you get medal/well above average goody bag/water/banana/tea/cakes/beer/music what's not to like! Printed results up on board within minutes. Recommended to all.

In short: The best organised race there is!
In full: OK, I may be a Wadhurst Runner but I ran the event and therefore qualified to review! For me this event is the best there is - the attention to detail is simply stunning with so many plus points for both the runner and friends/family it is hard to detail them all.

Special mention though to Albert for the hard work that goes in to this event, the girls (girl guides?) who ran the 5m water/lucozade station (with great encouragement given to the runners) and the beer at the end!

The course was trick today with some mud around and a tough call in terms of road/trail shoes. I went with road but wish I hadn't! Otherwise everything lick clockwork - perhaps too many drink stations as I felt guilty wasting so much and 2 x sponge stations too - was looking out for the on-course massage but no trace!

The finish is great with a brass band, cakes, beer (new for 2012 and very nice) and a goody bag that is well thought out. Plus more drinks/bananas should you need them.

I encourage anyone interested in this type of race/distance to come along next year. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again everyone.

In short: Wonderful
In full: Third time I've run this and it just gets better each time. Faultless organisation, an army of friendly marshals at every turn and just the best post-race chill with brass band, cakes, tea and now even beer. The race itself has everything, trail and road, lovely views of the lake. All in all just about the best race of the year in my book.

In short: Excellent organisation and a scenic and challenging course
In full: As someone has remarked below, this really is a superbly organised event - from the frequent updates sent out beforehand, to the abundant knowledgeable and helpful marshalls, frequent efficiently-run water stations and the finish "village" with the cake, beer and brass band. This really is a pleasure to race. the course itself is very scenic but has a real sting in the tail, as it is pretty flat for the first 10 miles then suddenly turns manically hilly for most of the last third. Certainly a high spot on my annual race calendar and one that I will definitely do again.

In short: Great race but leave your watch at home
In full: Fantastic organisation and marshalling - there seemed to be drinks stations almost every mile! It is hilly over the last 5 miles (1 of them was ridiculously steep) but the main problem for me was the terrain - if you like running in mud, farmer's fields and on rutted, single-track paths then this is for you! Forget about times - I ran 75 seconds per mile slower than road speed (although this made a pleasant change to be honest). Not sure I'll be back as I feel lucky not to have turned an ankle but can't fault this as an event.

In short: Tough but one of my top 5 races
In full: This a tough race in terms of undulation and distance, but definitely worth taking part. One of my top 5 races. I have never been in a race where they give me free beer at the end - top marks. (The free cake was good too)

Great organization, marshaling and scenery. Well done Wadhurst Runners and everyone else involved.

In short: Hard run, brilliant organisation, highly recommended
In full: What makes this race is the superb organisation - pre, during and after. The best marshalling I've seen - well done to all involved from the race director to the kids handing out the water and shouting encouragement. The run itself meanders gently through lovely scenery for the first 10.5 miles, but has a real sting in the tale. The last climb back up to the finish is particularly punishing, but at least you feel like you've earned the cake, tea and beer. Definitely coming back next year !

In short: A must do for those in the South-East, and further!
In full: Returned for my second Bewl 15 and although we didn't have the glorious sunshine this year it didn't matter. The reservoir makes for a pretty course, changing conditions underfoot kept things interesting and the hills at the end help to teach you a little about yourself.

The updates from the race director beforehand was a nice personal touch and made for a welcoming event, and the shuttle service to and from the train station was just over and above. Beer, cakes and a brass band at the end. I mean, what else could you possibly ask for?
