In short: Superbly organised, challenging, beautiful race with Dame Kelly Holmes to boot! In full: This is the third time I've run TW - it is the most brilliantly organised event - the toilet queue was marshalled so no time was wasted outside an empty portaloo and the queue moved quickly. The support all the way around is fantastic and the marshalls are superb. This course is quite a toughie, so you really feel like you deserve your medal and yet there is a lovely down hil last mile as you run in to be presented with your medal by a double olympic medal winner - brilliant! In short: Great race as usual, in a class of its own. In full: The huge amount of effort which goes into the planning and organising of this race really pays off. Apart from running out of water for the later finishers due to runners taking more than one goody bag (which I'm sure will be addressed next year) all the important elements...the technical t shirt, bespoke medal, bananas, gels, road closures, bands, cheering crowds, pacers, back markers accompanying even the slowest runners, Dame Kelly giving out the medals (even after the 2 hour mark), etc..... went really well. (As for the shortage of goody bags, these are really just a nice to have on top of all the afore mentioned things. I've entered many races which give just a medal or a t shirt and have been perfectly happy with that.) Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: How a race should be run In full: Fantastic race, superbly organised, with a great medal and tech race t-shirt - couldn't ask for more. Got to say thanks to all TW Harriers volunteers who did a marvellous job, as did the locals cheering everyone on contributing to a brilliant atmosphere. I only marked down the beginner-friendliness as it's a tough course, but otherwise everyone was welcome to run (i.e. not a clubby club-fest), so highly recommended for beginners wanting a challenge and bragging rights. Possible PB potential, but you could say that about a lot of races I guess – depends how hard you run! Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: Fantastic race, in glorious weather, superbly marshalled In full: What was I thinking missing this race last year!
It is such a great course and superbly organised by the Tun Wells Harriers. When you have the course and you get the weather like yesterday there is no beating this half marathon. The last mile is something to savour as you come downhill to large crowds cheering you on. Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: Wonderful race, great organisation and I got a medal from Dame Kelly! In full: Really really enjoyable. Had a great day, lots of nice touches throughout the race. Personally the best thing for me was running with the pace runners who helped/forced me into taking a big 8 minutes off my personal best on what is a challenging course. So big thanks from me to the 2 hour pace runners who helped me hit 1.56 Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: Excellent organisation and challenging scenic course In full: Another great effort from TWH - well done; shame about goody bag problem - but I'm sure they have learnt from it. Scenic Challenging course with quite a few crowd hotspots which help. Well marshalled - including the Portaloo area. One of the best half marathons. Well done everyone involved. In short: Great race In full: First time at TW. Enjoyed it a lot and knocked 5 minutes off my PB. Very friendly and welcoming and exceptionally well organised. Up there with Hastings as one of my favourite half marathons. I see a few niggles on this forum and definitely feel for those missing out on goody bags, which is a real shame, but overall the organisation was first class. I missed Dame Kelly at the end so didn't get my medal from her, but fortunately got one from her at Tonbridge in September! Date of review: February 27, 2012
