In short: ANOTHER FIRST CLASS HALF MARA BY COV!! In full: Only the 4th event but already this is a must for the midlands running calender. As with every year so far its very well organised both at the start/finish area and all around the course with the marshalling and waterstations. The new course was challenging with several tough inclines to battle. Runner, volunteer or spectator, this is a very special event all of Coventry can be proud of! Date of review: October 20, 2008

In short: if you've been practicing your hill climbs you'll love this race.. It can be a challenge to get to the top of one hill go around a corner and find another....but thats part of the charm the crowds where great, In full: it was a great day out (even though we got the kids up at 7am they where not impressed.) it was well organised with marshalls all over the place, car parking was very good, and plenty of water stops, with some main roads, parks, and even school fields and university roads and footpaths and one subway there was something for everyones taste. we even back tracked after the race to the park and had a cheap lunch whilst cheering on some of the walkers... there was a nice goodie bag, with a quality metal (stating event and year) and banana and kitkat. plus a coventy city football material bag.) paul. oh got a pb 1:37:24 and had a text message to prove this...superb idea i've not come across before.. well done to the nutters blowing whistles and cheering on all the runners. a superb effort. In short: Yet again a well organised race. In full: No point in repeating all the positives which have been said already.
Only gripe was the poor goodie bag at the end. Are they trying to compete with Stratford for the worst bag??
I did the Blaydon Race in Newcastle in June this year. A field of 4000, and the entry fee for that one was £14
Every finisher got a proper running top, bottle of brown ale, sandwiches, juice, mars bar.
Coventry ... small kitkat and a banana.
Have we just helped out Coventry City council with their financial deficit !?!?!? Date of review: October 19, 2008

In short: I'll be back next year In full: What can I say that hasn't been said, well organised, well spaced water stations, lucozade at one of them, a fast, no a very fast finish, great idea to get a text message with your time on 10 minutes after the end, mini marathon for the kids whilst they wait. Moderately hilly, no real lung busters in my opinion but some testers. On the downside, and this really is a minor grumble, we got boxed in on one hill just after the A45 crossing at mile 4 where the course was narrow, usual complaints about ipod wearers. Certainly, certainly I'll be back next year. A very big hand and more to the organisers Date of review: October 19, 2008

In short: ++++ The Perfect Race ++++ In full: Well done to the organisers and everyone involved in this years race - faultless. Great new start and finish location. Glad the route was changed this year so we didn't have to crawl up that last big hill in 12th mile! I always seem to run quick at this race - close to my pb! I'll be there next year. In short: Great organisation, great race, challenging hills In full: Third time I've done this and it continues to impress - it's the only race where - even as a woman - you don't have to queue long for the loos! - and the organisation is pretty much faultless, with a great new start and finish base in Millenium Square. I'm convinced the hills were worse than last time but suspect that's my fault for training on canal towpaths. All in all a great race. Date of review: October 19, 2008

In short: Geat Run In full: Can't fault this race at all. The slight route changes in 2008 have made it a better atmosphere at the start finish. Excellent route marking and marshaling. The hills are the same! but provide a suitable challenge and the cheerleaders at the uni, & the 'yellow whisting crowd' at the water station in the memorial park brought a smile to the very tired. Great race. Keep it up. Date of review: October 19, 2008

In short: My first half - it won't be my last! In full: From a racing newbie perspective (2nd organised event and 1st half) it was a really good day. Couldn't get lost, encouragement from spectators and volunteers, drinks aplenty, scenic route and a few hills to get your teeth into, but nothing insurmountable with proper preparation. All in all - brilliant. Date of review: October 19, 2008
