In short: This is a challenging cross-country run with lots of mud, streams and steep inclines to add to the challenge! Enjoyable and well worth it for the views, but extremely muddy! Very well organised, friendly and well marshalled.
In full: This is a great run over farmland, fields, tracks and hills, but the views at the top are well worth it! Extremely tough on the legs due to the amount of mud, and windy at the top of the hills. Very well marshalled and a goodie bag at the finish with a T-shirt, Mars bar and energy gel - certainly well earned! I'd also like to thank the marshalls who were all so friendly and supporting, but also the kind man who helped pull me out of the mud right at the beginning when I fell in it! Not for the faint hearted, or to go for a PB time!

In short: The slowest 11 miles ever
In full: Having done this 3 times before this was the first time that the hills were the least of the difficulties. Did anyone fall in the canal? Or sink in the rivers? And as for the mud!!!

In short: Does exactly what it says on the tin..
In full: This race is great! For me, the hardest one i've done so far. Rewarding panoramic views from the exposed hilltops that are reached by slogs up ridiculous slopes. The one or two slightly muddy areas in places didn't matter thanks to the considerate organisers incorporating a shoe wash towards the end! The T-shirt asks if I'll be back - you bet.

In full: My slowest time ever for the 11.5 miles. If you fancy running something a bit different then I definitely recommend this one.

In short: Shedfuls of Mud, Tough Course, Harder than a very hard race that has been made even harder.
In full:
Train in lead boots and you will have some idea what it is like on a warm day when the rain has been coming down for weeks. Have done this in the cold and now appreciate how much harder it is when it is warm and really really muddy. No bottlenecks, just very hard running and hills to die on. Superb T-shirt, beautiful cake, showers, brilliant marshals and did I mention the mud ? Better had just in case no-one else does ;-)))

In short: They don't lie when they say mud, blood and more mud!
In full: The race starts jolly enough with a gentle strole through the village...The first field you come to isn't that bad either...but then you hit the first mud bath which if your under 6ft will come up past your knees!!! This is when you realise that this isn't gonna be easy...your muscles will burn and ache with every inch that you run. The first hill is a gentle crawl on all fours which will leave you gasping for air and some medical attention! Then, of course, there is plenty more mud you can wade through before you get to crawl up two more hills! Then it all ends with a freezing cold dip or plunge into the River Avon and a sprint for the line to collect that all important 'free' t-shirt!
