In short: gorgeous scenery, friendly and fun In full: fabulous route, wonderful way to spend a sunday morning. Although a windy and wet day all very nice, beautiful scenery, well worth it next year. Date of review: July 7, 2008
In short: Great course good underfoot friendly crowd. Tree lined for much of teh course provided some shelter from the drizzle today - and on another year it may provide welcome shade from thesun!! Date of review: July 6, 2008
In short: And then the rain came! In full: Enjoyed this race more than I thought. Liked the pens to begin with and the course was lovely. Saying that the two hills at 6k & 9K were a little naughty, especially the 9k one, I almost had to use my hands to go up it! Saying that, I enjoyed it and ran under the hour mark (new PB) Unfortunately they ran out of medals, as there were lots of entrants on the day so I didn't get one, but they have promised to send it! In short: what a great day (despite the weather!!) In full: very scenic race run a variety of surfaces, the 2 "hills/climbs" are nothing you need to worry about,if like me you incorperate "hills/climbs" into your training,HOWEVER the 3rd "SHORT,sharp climb" does come as a bit of a shock!!!! i will however be back!!!! In short: A great day out! In full: My target was to equal my PB from Bognor, which is an easier course. I managed to beat it by 13 seconds, and I felt like I'd worked for it!
A lovely route along the downslink, and through the farm estates. It wasn't quite as flat as I had hoped, but at least there were downs as well as ups! That short climb back onto the downslink is just what you don't need at 8.5k.
A very friendly and well organised race. Well done to the marshalls for braving the rain! I shall be back next year. Date of review: July 6, 2008
