In short: It didn't apear to be organised by runners!
In full: Agree wholeheartedly with complaint about the start of the 3 races being too close in time. Also, the signage was inadequate around Race HQ and Start area, and marshals/helpers seemed not to be well briefed about admin arrangements.
At the end, the water station was hidden well away from the finish line, again with no signs to indicate its position.
The course does not compare with the likes of Pewsey, Swindon or Highworth, either for interest or marshalling. It could be a PB course if it were not for the obstacle course round the 10k runners.
For all that, the atmosphere was friendly, and all facilities were there, if you could find them.

In short: I expected better
In full: This is a long standing road race and the second year I have run it. To be honest what were the organisers thinking in setting off us 1/2 marathon runners what could have been no more than 30 seconds after the last of the 10k runners. Utter lunacy. Chaos reigned. Before the end of the initial bottle neck alley we had reached the tail end of the runners then into the high street had to take avoiding action onto the high kerbed pavements doging on lookers and prams. Ploughing through the 10k runners for the next 3 miles does kind of ruin any sort of pace management and probably contributed to the severe cramp at 11 miles costing me a top 15 placing. Congrats to the leading lady and sorry if I frightened you when I pulled up.

Witnessed a Marshal sending some poor 10k runner down the fun run route and then making him turn back.

Took my life in my hands crossing the main road before turning into the high street. Stick to the path the marshal said well I would of if there was one.

Strictly Stroud or Swindon next year for me.

Plus points were a good number of water stations and decent weather

In short: Well organised, flat mostly rural course
In full: First time running this half marathon and a PB too. Good flat route. Start and end were a little disappointing. Competing with 10k runners at start was interesting, then the last mile winding through town streets whilst competing with traffic and pedestrians was not ideal. credit to marshalls though who coped with this well.Perhaps route could stay out in the country for longer and finish straight into town as per 10k.

Problem with sports drinks at water stations. I am a coeliac and so have to be careful what I drink in case it contains gluten. So I was shocked to be drinking a sport drink when I expected water. Fortunately it was OK for me ( it might not have been - that would have meant a month of illness at least ) so in future please let runners know what is available at stations and let us decide which we take on.

In short: I keep coming back and always enjoy it
In full: Done this a few times before - agree with other reviewers that 10k and half-marathon starts are too close together - spent much of first two miles dodging round people - not fun for them or me and possibly cost me a PB. Having said that, excellent organisation, great encouragement from the stewards, fast course, plenty of drinks stations (felt sorry for the people who thought one of them was water and poured it all over their heads only to discover it was a sports drink) - all in all, an excellent morning out. I'll be back again, definitely.

In short: Very enjoyable Half Marathon & a PB !
In full: First time I have done this race. Yes, there is a problem at the start, but I felt more sorry for the people at the back of the 10km race, as it not nice to have people cutting in and overtaking you (and I was one of those people!). Simply need to start everyone off together or just allow a good 5 mins before setting off the half marathon. Anyway, apart from that it was well marshalled, and a good PB course, made even better due to the conditions on the day which were near perfect for running. Thanks to all concerned, and thanks for my V40 trophy and the bottle of wine :-)
