In short: Great race-Good course, Friendly atmosphere, good marshalls and quite well organised
In full: I didn't find the start too bad or congested, and it was possible to get up front if you were looking for a fast race. The start seemed to run smoothly and had no major problems.I thought the course was very good, and enjoyed the changes in direction and running through the high street. The support was good too.
One gripe is that the final water station should have been closer to the finish, and before the goody bags.It was quite confusing as to where to go.Good race, will do it next year.

In short: Very enjoyable race. Well organised but unfortunately congested
In full: I enjoyed this race, having completed it last year too it was good to see a number of improvements. The Tuesday market place was a great place to start and finish in and the course was a good mixture of town centre running, urban areas, parks and river bank.
Goody bag at the end was very nice too, an excellent medal and reasonable t-shirt as well as a nice bar of fudge. Good to see plenty of water stations too - there was certainly no excuse to go thirsty during the run.
There was an excellent crowd turnout and a nice buzz around the market place at the end.

The start needed better organisation - it wasn't clear where to line up with several queues all merging into one. The course was very congested for the first few Km which put pay to any PB chances for me. I also found the last few Km very congested, once we returned to the shopping centre - I got stuck behind a group of women running three abreast who would not move over. It was great to run through the shopping centre and a great atmosphere, but perhaps a wider start might allow a natural spreading out of runners over the first few Km.
I was suprised to see the "chip time" on the results web site was over one minute faster than my stopwatch. Now as I much as I'd have loved to have completed it quicker, I have to question the accuracy of the chip timing. Perhaps this was just me.

In short: great race
In full: start didnt seem as congested as it could have been, obviously there was some but couldnt really be avoided. twists and turns made life more interesting. personally found the water stations in the wrong place, first one too early and i couldnt find the one at the finish, when i did find it it was shared with the 8K and difficult to access. this was mentioned on last years reviews so a shame this wasnt improved whereas everything else had been.

In short: Great! Organised & beginner friendly. Flat & car free.
In full: My first 10k so I can't compare, but would recommend for:
Varied scenery
No hills
No cars
Loads of marshals, first aid, etc.
Decent loos pre-race (didn't try after).
Great support in the town.
Despite...
Poor event photography so get your mate to take your pic.
A bit cramped at the start & on the river path, so maybe a couple more starting pens would help?
Bit dispiriting to pass the finish with still 2k to go.

but really it was excellent - I had a great day.

In short: Well organised but a bit short of space at the start
In full: Really good fun as had little idea of the route and you kept turning and twisting back on yourself (or so it felt at times)including passing the finish with 2k to go. Running through the shopping centre was exciting but running against the head wind by the river hard work. Enjoyed it all though thanks to all involved.

In short: most enjoyable....
In full: ....apart from hearing and seeing the finishing line, but knowing there was still 2km to go - very demoralising

In short: good day out!
In full: a nice race, start a bit congested, but aren't they all with a big field? The headwind along the river was a tad unpleasant but no-one could do anything about that. My only quibble was that the finish seemed rather disorganised - had to go quite a trek to find any water and found it very difficult to locate my family who were struggling to get to the finish without crossing the course. Also times could have appeared on the website a bit quicker and not impressed with the event photography - I can't be bothered to wade through 3000 images, they need a search feature. Minor quibbles aside, a great race and I'll probably do it again

In short: Route could be better, I personally enjoyed last years route more. Far more club runners this time and not such a friendly feel either.
In full: Market place start was too conjested to have a proper warm up, and the bit past the market place and down the High Street, with another 2k to go was demoralising and made that 2k tough. Disappointed with the offical photos. I would do it again being local, and it is a great event that could still be improved.

In short: Excellent organisation. Very flat course. Made for experienced runners and those new to running. Spectators were brilliant. Very good value - medal and t-shirt. I'll be doing this again next year.
