In short: First half - hot and hilly - loved it :-) In full: For a fen dweller - undulating was not the word I'd use, I found the hills quite a challenge, the downhill run in was nice. Race was really well organised, loads of water, had no problems parking at 0910. Marhsalls really friendly, cheering everyone on, good support from locals setting up water stations and sprinkler thing was great. Well done St Albans and thanks for making my first half so enjoyable. Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: Nice course through country lanes, although the hills killed me! In full: Overall a good, but tough race. The heat was a killer and I needed to have done more hill training! The organisation was generally good, loads of water on route and helpful, friendly marshalls. My only complaints were the start was a little chaotic, so we got stuck behing the 2:30+ group and there certainly weren't enough toilets! We'll do it again next year, if only to conquer the numerous hills! Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: narrow route makes it a slow race In full: Lost a few minutes stuck behind the slow runners and the narrow route doesn't help its hard to overtake otherwise the organization was very good. Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: This was a very hard going race due to the hills and heat, very challenging indeed. extreemley well organised with something for the whole family. Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: What's not to like? In full: great weather, seamless organisation, really nice course with loads of water stations, lots of friendly locals to cheer you on, and a free ice lolly at the end. Perfect half marathon really. Probably a bit too undulating for a PB, but not so hilly it's too tough to do. I would recommend it to anyone Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: My first half. Really pretty and quite hilly, but a nice atmosphere and they even gave us an ice lolly at the end!! Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: Good Summer Half. Not to hard a course, not to easy. In full: The course had lots of marshalls and lots of water stations - which were needed on a hot day. There was a fair amount of support all the way round and all goos support came from the hundreds of walker that you overtake during the race. Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: Hot (again) Hilly (still) well-organised (consistent), parking muddled In full: Seems to get harder each year? Not sure how the english weather can be consistently hot on one weekend each year. Lots of water on the course which was good - freindly "neighbours" offering their own impromptu water stations too! Course is challenging, but rewarding - great downhill finish. Need to provide better communication for those attempting to park .. where to go etc. Date of review: June 15, 2009

In short: Wasnt' sure what to expect from this as last reviews were quite critical. As a result was plesantly surprised at the level of organistaion and the friendly atmosphere. More hills than reviews led to believe. Plenty of water was great! . Date of review: June 15, 2009
