In short: freindly club race, flat/undulating, mostly off road on track, pb potential In full: Firstly there was a warm freindly club feel to this race, the weather was perfect for running and the organization was like clockwork.
The route was very pretty and mostly off road but was a little slippery under foot in places with lots of fallen leaves on the mostly off rd sections and there was a nice undulation at about the 8 mile mark that made you have to work that little harder, there was also some tight switch backs taking you to and from the track sections. There seemed adequate water stations and the course was definately the correct measurement this year as i had clocked 13.20 miles with my garmin.
So all in all well done to all involved with the running of this event and hope i will see you next year. Date of review: November 7, 2010

In short: I had pre-registered but was amongst the last set of runners to come in. I was given a really tacky make-do medal. All the good ones had been given out even to people who had just registered on the day. Very poor planning in this respect. In full: I put my complaint by email to the organiser and was told the good medals would be posted out to those who had not been given them. I am still waiting ....... In short: Wet on the day, but that's the weather oop north for you ;-) In full: The weather is uncontrollable, so no complaints about that. Yes there was a flooded section of road, but that's life. Cope! Glad I took my cross country trainers though. It's really two thirds on road and one third tracks. Not really cross country, but muddy and slidy, so choose your shoes well. The start was a bit crowded and would benefit from being longer before the route narrows. A loop of the track would do. Bit of a lack of atmosphere (possible lack of local promotion eg radio for local support) and also build up at the start (need amplifiers) would be much appreciated and more friendly. Good race though. Enjoyed it. Date of review: November 18, 2009

In short: Minor adjustments needed In full: As people have said, the start and finish need sorting.I started with the 2 hour people and couldn't hear any announcements or any indication that we'd started - just had to follow those in front. I also had no idea where the finish was and kept running until after the big blue sausage. Date of review: November 15, 2009

In short: A quick half marathon but with a difficult road section In full: Good race, long time since I did a half marathon, most runners very friendly the only complaint I had was there was no minutes silence before the race as it started at 11am on Remberance Sunday.
