In short: I'll do this one again In full: For a 1st attempt by the organisers, this event was a MASSIVE success, its difficult to fault except for water station running out of water near start and also the start time could have been an hour or so earlier, that said though next year it could be raining.
the marshalls where excellent, the locals around the route were also excellent even drivers of all types of vehicles had patience and many encouraged from their cars which makes a change
no marathon is easy, this one leaves you thinking weather permitting, you could do better next time, well i WILL be back next year to find out.
to all those on the forum well done everyone see you next year (if not before)for the reunion Date of review: September 12, 2006

In short: Loved it! In full: Excellent organisation for it's first year- many thanks to Dave and his helpers. I don't feel the need to mention the very few negative points because they were far outweighed by the positives. The marshals were amazing- their enthusiasm never waned even for us slower ones. The same goes for the residents of Mablethorpe and surrounding areas. Very much appreciated. I really hope I can do it again next year- my favourite marathon so far. Cheers Mablethorpe!

In short: Superbly organised In full: A great effort for a first marathon.Very good value, with a free pasta party, chip timing and an incredibly generous goody bag.The marshals were superb and encouraging and the organisation of our safety at road junctions was excellent. I understand that the marshals(and organser) waited for the last finisher, who was almost 2 hours outside the (very reasonable) 6 hour cutoff. The public wwere great and very supportive, and that includes the motorists. Yes, id have liked a cooler day and an earlier start.but I would definitely do this again Well done mablethorpe!
