In short: Well organised, lots of runners, nice enough course
In full: The course is pretty enough, being a mix of roads and off-road. Part of the course goes through a residential area with people coming out to cheer us on, lots of home-made banners in evidence, a lovely touch. Large field and the slower runners were very slow, lots of walkers and run-walkers who killed the pace at the back, they seemed completely unaware people would want to pass them. The hill-plateau-hill section is a bit tough but the rest of the course is flatish and fast, my husband got a new PB and I was close to mine. Excellent organisation at the finish with water and bananas from Sainsburys. I'll be back next year and I'll won't start at the back.

In short: Corker of a course and brilliant organisation
In full: This is a cracking course and great for a first foray into "multi-terrain" if you're more used to pounding the streets; an interesting mix of grass, fields, gravel and roads. Was very impressed to see Sarrie the Camel from the local rugby club complete it in full regalia - and in not a bad time either! Don't think it would benefit from being any bigger as it's a squeeze getting c.2500 people through some of the narrower sections, but very impressively organised and times available on the day.

In short: Very smoothly organised - and an unexpected PB to boot!
In full: A very nice race - my local event - but I always feel vulnerable to inclement weather due to the extent of off-road terrain (ploughed fields and the like) which is a risk in October. However, so far, we have all been lucky.

In full: I've done this race every year since it started as it's my local. It's been blessed with fabulous weather every year! Fantastic to have something in Harpenden for a great local cause. Lovely friendly atmosphere.
