In short: Wonderful place to race. Compared to last year organisation has slipped..
In full: Cards on the table 1st. Ran it post-viral and had a poor race but that hasn't clouded my judgement, honestly. Unfortunately there wasn't enough peeps on drinks stations (especially 1). Consider bottles for next year - easier on volunteers staff and better for runners. 3rd drink station too far along the road.

Busses - oops!

Not really sure about your timing. If I understand correctly we were chipped for accurate timings but they all started at the same time (gun time). I know this will have helped the organisers to collate results but it was a pointless exercise for us runners unless you were starting right at the front.

Having said all that I will be back next year (and well hopefully) because it's such a wonderful course and all these problems were minor and can be easily recified.

So in summary, it's a brilliant place race but needs a bit more attention to detail from the organisers but I'll be back.

In short: The views were amazing but the finishing quarter of a mile was a real sting in the tail.

In short: A Race with Great Potential - Shame about Organisation
In full: Scenery is sensation and if it was'nt for this, then the poor organisation would have made more people a little annoyed. It's a long way to come for some people, and so the delayed start and did not help. The buses that transported runners to the start were ok, but there was a lot of hanging around waiting for the bus and then at the start. It would have made more sense to extend the registration until later - or to have started the race earlier.
The course itself was varied and interesting, with a 7-mile undulating trail race to begin with, followed with 5.5 miles of gradual downhill road racing, finally a bit of up and down; road, pavement and trail to finish off.
The other major dissapointments were the poor water stations (cups - are not good for faster runners), poor route directions (causing a leading group to go the wrong way), and the lack-of decent mementos).
The finish area was good - and refreshments adequate - however, bag-collection a bit confusing and there were two porta-showers for entire male field of runners.
All in all, an interesting race - where poor organisation is made-up for with the varied terrain and interesting route.

In short: Ticks all the right boxes!
In full: Loved the route - mix of trails & road. Undulating first half but 2nd half really fast down ski road, murderous last half mile to the finish! Despite the delay at start ( which was probably unavoidable), the organisation was good. The crowds along route were enthusiastic & encouraging (a special thanks to the kids dishing out sweets) and the whole event very friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend & will defo be back next year!

In short: Stunning! The fantastic views on the downhills can really be enjoyed
In full: Can't rave enough about the scenery, hills lochs and trees, and the route is good too - a good mix of forest tracks and roads. That last 1/2 mile is a killer - uphill all the way. Good toilet facilities at the start (always essential) and a bit it of lateness with the buses this year but it didn't spoil anything for me.

In short: The scenery made the race so special.
In full: This was just the event to get me back out training and racing again. The tricky terrain over the first seven miles was just what I like, with the last six miles downhill tarmac section I just put my head down. Thanks to the great marshals, and there were enough spectators to offer encouragement despite the rural route. I loved it!

In short: Scenic multi-terrain autumn half
In full: Stunning setting, decent facilities at HQ and start, net down-hill but a bit undulating first half, a fair bit of which was on forstry tracks rather than tarmac. Few glitches with the buses to the start - didn't matter this year as the weather was fine but would have been a nightmare if it had been raining. Could have done with one more drinks station really. Otherwise all good and well orgainised (and its only in its second year) - I'll be back.
