In short: A good 10k in glorious winter weather.
In full: A well organised race in bright and sunny weather through glorious countryside. Well done to the organisers. A great course which challenges and prepares you for faster 10k's.

In short: A lovely race in beautiful countryside
In full: This was a new race to me and one I would certainly do again. The organisation was very good, the route was very well marshalled and virtually traffic-free, the k markers were clear and accurate, the scenery was beautiful, the weather was lovely and the pigs were cute!
Don't get too excited by your 5k split, you will not repeat it in the second half. Oh man, those hills were fun!

In short: A nice local village race
In full: Distinctly hilly course but great scenery and a friendly village atmosphere. AND free tea and biscuits for the runners.

In short: An excellent race
In full: Every year the Lions do a fantastic job with this race - with their organisational brilliance and the wonderful route, which was almost traffic free, its not surprising the race is so popular

In short: I even found it hilly (i am fond of hills)
In full: It was the wind that got me, i was 5 mins slower 2nd half than 1st half. I had no problem with the marshals, i don't tend to notice marshals- only when they fail to tell me which way. I think that's their job rather than being cheerful. Not much food on offer after the event(crucial to me as i had to ride to the station and no food all the way back to London- i was starving!), that is something they might address as they could make extra for the charity!

In short: free Tea, a nice medal and one 'hill'of a race!
In full: Definitely try to get there early, say 45 mins before race start or you will struggle with parking. Free Tea/coffee/orange juice and biccies before and after the race for runners. It was full - 500 runners with a few turned away as well! And then comes the ominous hill. Even if you know it is coming it doesn't stop you thinking you are on for a pb around halfway! good luck and keep some energy in reserve for the last 2.5k!

In short: Nice hilly race shame about the lack of encouragement from the marshalls
In full: It was a difficult race. Even the first 5K going downhill was hard on your legs, the uphill from 7K onwards was a challenge. However it was nice to run a hilly course. A couple of gripes are the complete lack of encouragement or sign of friendlyness from the course marshalls. "Smile and clap, it does help". My second gripe was the lack of water at the finish line.
