In short: Definite PB course In full: Really enjoyable race. Everything was well organised, from the car parking, the guy talking on the microphone and the distribution of the goody bags at the end. The course is really flat and the lack of any significant breeze today enabled me to beat my PB by over 2 minutes. Thanks to all the organisers. Date of review: July 8, 2007
In short: Great Race In full: This race was better organised that this years Liverpool Half and the staff at Runliverpool should look at this race as setting a benchmark. There were plenty of provisions and the organisers should pat themselves on the back of staging a first class event that restores some of tyhe faith of local runners after some poor events by Runliverpool. Bring on 2008 but lets go back to t-shirts Date of review: July 8, 2007

In short: A Fantastic Event In full: This was my 1st ever PLS 10k and I really enjoyed it. Managed to get a PB on what is a relatively flat course, which has great views over the River Mersey. It was a well organised event and the marshalls were friendly and always cheering and clapping as you ran past. I would recommend this to anyone and will be back next year. Well Done to all concerned at Penny Lane Striders Date of review: July 8, 2007
In short: Fantastic Race, brilliant Organisation! In full: This is about the 4th or 5th Time i have done this race and it keeps getting better (and bigger! there were loads more than usual there today). I got a PB, and a cheer from the Marshalls at the finish!! Well Done to Penny Lane Striders for delivering a brilliant event again! Looking forward to next year. Date of review: July 8, 2007
In short: A great race - ideal for all types of runners In full: I don't know what it is about this race but its the second time I've done it and both times I've wished there were more events like it.
There is a very good mixture of standards in the race, so the course is busy, but with plenty of space throughout the field.
The marshalls are very encouraging and friendly. There are sparodic spectators throughout the course, many just people enjoying the views who are happy to cheer you on. The views are great, with plenty of woodlands and plenty of sea views. And the course is very fast and flat - indeed, a minor hill at the end seems like a struggle simply because its the first difficult part you come across.
Even the arrangements at the finish are great with a nice big-open cricket field with a couple of tents up, an easily-accesible location (by car or public transport) and superb (and free) parking facilities.
The closest I can come to any form of criticism is that they only have the thing once a year - I would certainly welcome more events like this on the calandar. Date of review: July 4, 2006
