In short: Great atmosphere, good support, plenty of water
In full: The course (same route as Nike 10k last year) definitely has PB potential and the phased starts were something Nike could learn from.

2 water stations (or 3 if the marshalls felt sorry for you as they did in my case!) plus a nice cooling shower around 7k which was much appreciated!
Support from crowds and marshalls around the course was fantastic and really added to the atmosphere.
All that and a well stocked goody bag at the end of it!

Only negative was the farce of baggage collection. I waited 45mins and then when I did get to the baggage area everyone was allowed in to try and find their own bag amongst the thousands there. Baggage handling is something that maybe Nike could teach Great Run!

In short: Great organisation, great turn out and great day
In full: This was a well organised race from pre race correspondence to on the day activities. (The British 10k people could learn a lot from phased starts and chip timing).

Race is flat (same route as Nike 10K) and good opportunity for PB if you don't get stuck in the crowds. I personally ran a 44 minute PB so was pretty happy at the end.

Goody bag is excellent with Lucozade, t-shirt (which is better than most) and also a nice medal as well.

Lots of water pre, during and post race too. All in all an enjoyable run and will be back for next years!!

In short: Fantastic organization, lovely run, lovely runners!
In full: What can I say, great organization to start with, uplifting organised warm up, lots of fun, run was great, mostly flat so great PB potential - despite the heat! plenty of water for us 'middle road' runners. The single problem is the baggage claim area - turned into a fiasco, I was waiting 40 minutes and then had to find my own bag - luckily I did - but many were left searching, but that said, I couldn't look after 10,000 bags either! See you next year!
