In short: Very hilly, killer hill at the end
In full: It's a funny thing running. This is one of the hillier races in my calender, but one of the more enjoyable. Stewards are great, Organisation fantastic and I've strangely got a PB ( 1Hr 31 Mins) here for the last two years running. Overall, see you next year (says it all).

In full: This was my first trip out to the Blackmore Vale Half Marathon and I was suitably imprssed with the organization.

Great Parking arrangements enabling everyone to get out quickly without hurting the football ground.

Race started ontime.

Great organization at the finish and on the course.

This is a very well run race and the Lions should be very proud of all of their efforts.

Minor comments to think about.

Directions to the race should provide first timers a little more about how to get there ie provide an address that will go into GPS.. hey I said minor..

Second point is that perhaps we should go a bit deeper in the age groups as this is a highly competitive race for the men's open, over 40's and same for women's. I think folks would be fine if the fee was say one pound more as this would more than cover hardware for all age groups and you could go five deep in the competitive ones.

Great day today..

In short: Great Course - Enough hills to make it intereresting without being total killers.
In full: Really enjoyed this one. Good to have timing chips at a smaller event like this. Enjoyable hilly route with an up-hill final mile leaves you feeling like you've had to work. Good sandwich selection at the end. Overall well done.

In short: Hilly but nice atmosphere
In full: This was my first half marathon as in training for Brighton marathon. Finished in what I consider was a good time (1:37) but very very tired at the end-I seemed to be running up and down hills all the time but have nothing to base the route on really to compare. Stayed at the end for awards which were a little dis appointing as some of times weren't in and microphone feedback problems. Overall enjoyed though. Nice friendly people and runners.
How can somebody run it in 1:09-wow
Feel that I need more training at distance for Brighton.

In short: should have believed them when they said the hill at the end was hard
In full: Had to work very hard today to finish. Probably not the best 'race' (I don't race) to make a comeback from niggles!, but a nice course. Didn't notice the cold really, was just trying to get round in one piece. Glad I took my own water. Last hill was a bit mean!

In short: Excellent scenery and v.friendly. Hilly though and water was out in the middle.
In full: Good friendly race and the scenery absolutely lovely. Those hills though were a bit stresing at the end of the race which takes away any PB potential, and any beginner would need to consider them (not as bad as Swindon's hills though!). A couple of water stattions were out in the middle of the race for us mid-slower paced runners (2hr finish) which was disappointing, but all the stewards and supporters were encouraging and friendly.
Worth a go next year!!

In short: Hilly course
In full: Nice scenic and undulating course. The last mile is uphill all the way! Did I miss some mile markers. From 7 miles on, I only saw a couple. I was worried at one point! But enjoy myself. Will do it again.

In short: Undulating course with hilly finish
In full: It seemed like water stations every mile for the first 6 miles, however when I wanted to water to wash down a gel there was none for about 5 miles, and only saw one that had run out of water. At 2:10 there were plenty of people still to come through.
