In short: Marvellous Muddy Mayhem In full: As always, an excellent way to start the New Year. The usual clockwork organisation, friendly marshals and camaraderie between the runners gives the race a brilliant atmosphere. The mud seemed stickier this year which just added to the sense of achievement for everyone. Thanks again to Dr Rob and his band of happy helpers.
In short: Great way to start the year In full: A wonderfully enjoyable and silly race. Fancy dress is compulsory and the course is so brutal that any remaining prospect of taking it seriously goes out the window. Instead a few hundred mildly hungover cheery souls yomp around some of Surrey's loveliest scenery, cheer each other on and get a super bag of goodies at the end. Perfect start to 2015. In short: Another top-notch trionium race. Well worth getting up early on new years day for. In full: Hills, mud, hills and fancy-dressed runner, what a great way to start the new year. Slight re-adjustment of race route certainly didn't change the toughness of the course. extra steps just added to the pain. The only reason this isn't back in the UK top ten races is that everyone else has raised their game to match Rob. Date of review: January 12, 2015
In short: Kick off the new year with a smile and a hill or two! In full: I love the Knacker Cracker - this year's race was better than before with the start at the top of the hill. There is no other race which is as tough but puts a smile on your face throughout the whole course - great camaraderie, fab organisation. Have never ached so much in my life afterwards thanks to the extra hills & steps but who cares - I'll be back! Date of review: January 8, 2015
In short: The only way to start the New Year. In full: This was my 5th Knacker Cracker and the best yet. I don't know what Dr Rob did in the 2 weeks before the race to turn what was perfectly good ground when I did a practice run into the churned up mess on the day but whatever it was I've never ached as much after doing the Knacker Cracker as I did this year. The bonus Eiger steps may be to blame as well! The marshals were fantastic. The banter between runners hilarious. Great goodies at the end. Difficult to fault anything really. Agree with TheBilliam's comment that non fancy dressers should be given a time penalty, that would make things interesting! Can't wait for next year - I get a feeling the Eiger Steps will be staying in... Also wondered if Dr Rob's family have to eat leftover cheese and pickle rolls and carrots for the whole week after the race?! Date of review: January 6, 2015
