In short: There's more to Swindon than roundabouts!
In full: The only fault with this half marathon is if you rely on them supplying water you'll be dehydrated! There's never enough water to please everyone, but hey that's what a camelbak's for. Definitely seemed to be more marshalls this year and the addition of toilets around the course. Can't say if there was more support this year of if it's just because I was quicker there were more people still hanging around! Every year it's the same bits of the course that get me - the hill around the 4 mile point (over the bridge), the horrid downhill then sharp uphill turn around the 9 mile point and the Marlborough Road seems way longer on the way back in than it ever did on the way out - but I still sign up again every year!!!! A lovely challenging run, well supported and the organisation and facilities improve year on year. Sign me up for 2009.....

In short: Absolutely brilliant
In full: I am a local so perhaps biased, but this has to be one of the best road races. Great organisation with loads of friendly marshals, lots of water stations (with small bottles of water) and energy drinks, a really nice course, (you’re not going to get a PB, but just enjoy the views) roads closed so it soon spreads out to give loads of room, lots of friendly local support, clear mile markers (and a 13 mile marker). Well done and thanks to all involved.

In full: Very well organised, plenty of drink stations and nice medal. My Garmin measured it some way over the 13.1 though.

In short: Enjoyable but challenging.
In full: My first half marathon and I enjoyed it. The course is hilly, I set off too fast and found the last three miles hard work. Managed a time of 1hr 35 min, which I was pleased with as it was quite warm on the day. Very well organized and I will certainly do again.

In short: This is an undulating course but a downhill finish!
In full: I enjoyed the great scenery when we were out in the wilds. Well marshalled and enough loos and drink stops on the way. I somehow managed to get a PB despite doing a flatter Bristol half a few weeks before. Only 2 gripes one was that there was no water available at the finish unless I could prove I was an "emergency case" and second was my number was not sent out to me in time for the race fortunately I was able to pick it up easily on the day. I just loved the downhill finish and the small pockets of crowd support when we were out in the rural areas made the event worth doing again. I will be back!!!
