In short: Fantastic - booked as my birthday treat and it didn't let me down!
In full: This is the first Salomon Turbo X trail race that I've done and I loved every minute. Although it's not quite as much fun as Tough Guy, it was absolutely brilliant. The scenery, running terrain, mud, hills and camaradrie couldn't be bettered. What's more the organisation was great, in particular the amount of toilets!! The only thing they could improve is the number of water stations, but they did say on the instructions that there would only be one. I LOVED it and can't wait to do another one!

In short: Mud, glorious mud.
In full: I think I'd still be there now had it rained, stuck in the mud and it was wet and muddy as it was. Brilliant.

In short: My legs hurt
In full: This is well worth doing.

That said it was far, far harder than I'd expected and whilst I didn't push it too much (finished over 30 minutes outside my road PB)my calves and glutes were still stiff and sore this morning.

£20 entry seems steep but the goodie bag was very good - SiS gels, water bottle, couple of bars, drinks, water, pen etc and there was also a Salomon technical running t-shirt. In other words it more than paid for itself.

In short: Challenging race, needed more water stations
In full: Tough course (as you'd expect) which made the sole water station completely inadequate in my opinion - definitely my biggest gripe as despite carrying my own water too I was suffering by the end.

But great t-shirt and goodie bag, well marked and interesting course. Lots of mud and climbs. Good parking near the start/finish. Mostly good!

Probably wouldn't do the same one again, but would do another in the series!

In short: despite being very tough, definitely the best race of the year. Loads of mud, hills, rocks, weaary legs and smiley faces at the end.

In short: Best race all year, wish they had them each month. Took a while to clean the mud off, but the race was called PURE FILTH!!!!
