In short: Lacked the pazzaz of previous years.
In full: Lacked the pazzaz of previous years. Although the Bog Of Doom looked cool with the fire and the smoke. I just didn't pick up on much atmosphere prior & post race. Organisation was average - usual complaints: not enough toilets for 2000 people and spectators (any they were filthy), baggage drop for the guys was horrendous. Was stood in a queue soaking and freezing waiting to get my bag back (which unlike so many I had the forsedight to prep with loads of warm dry kit) while some Air Cadets argued amongst themselves over who would get the backs from the building, inside which there was clearly no system. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate volunteers and the like (we couldn't do it without them) BUT I think some adult supervision might be beneficial in future. Thought the T Shirt was awful, one of the worst I've had. Cotton is fine (although for £20 entry fee a Tech T Shirt would be better)but I thought the quality and design was proper chad (2006 was a good one for reference). However I love this race because of the challenge not neccessarily becuase of the organisation. So would still do it again in a heartbeat. More cold please, it made it far more challenging for faster runners. Thorouhgly enjoyed watching the under-prepared suffer! More of that please and it'll be worth

In short: My fifth hell down south....and the coldest yet
In full: I've run this race in all conditions but today was the coldest by far. Initially felt the lack of water took away some of the fun but not so with the slippery trails & hills. Always enjoy the event - todays highlights were the goody bags, also for the kids race which my son loved, the convenience VIP parking, smaller field of runners so less bottlenecks (due to the multi day/waves). The lowlights were the toilets and agree with other comments on those poor people suffering with cold standing waiting to get their bags back. Lucky there was no icy wind blowing. Overall a good atmosphere though the early part of the race seemed subdued with marshalls & spectators quieter than normal (mabe as the marshals had worked the same race the previous day?). Better in the latter stages though. Having participated in a number of races at Longmoor I understand the basic conditions so expect no more - maybe the same should be made clearer to first timers. Sad to hear of runners suffering on the course & no marshalls nearby. Hope it was nothing serious as this is meant to be a challenging but fun event for all. A big thanks to the guy on the Buff store who gave my son a buff for free (really made my sons day) & the physios who gave him a post race massage (he's only 5 y/o!) after the little devils run :-) Will be back next year and may try some of the other HR events. Hopefully the organisers will take the feedback on board for next years race.

In short: Great course but a complete shambles at the end with the cold
In full: This course was great fun but the organisers seriously messed up at the end.

If you organise a race at the end of November that involves people getting wet in some of the coldest conditions of the year, then have the decency to at least hand out foil blankets to everyone at the end. People had to hound the St John Ambulance guys for blankets, who inevitably ran out through no fault of their own. I had to help a number of people at the end who were in complete agony.

You charged enough for the event so a blanket or heated marquee at the end wouldn't have been too much to ask for!

In short: Why Oh Why?
In full: Seriously. Why do we do things like this to ourselves? I've just got the feelings back in my fingers, the smelly silt out of places I never knew I had, and am ready for bed at 7.30.

Utter madness. When can I sign up for next year?

In short: Really hard but great fun
In full: I knew about the bog, but somehow didn't realise quite how much would be running up hills or mounds and then straight back down the other side - far too steep to run. Mostly a really tough, really good trail run then they throw in a couple of mud baths / lakes just to make things a bit more interesting. Lots of fun, great scenery, great run, well organised, nice goody bag. Good stuff. As that other lot used to say - just do it!

In short: Absolute Hell. It was Brilliant, Fantastic.......Next, Hell in the Middle.
In full: The Hell series are Awesome. No point moaning about stuff, dig in, grit your teeth and get on with it. If you want changing rooms, showers, mile markers, warm water Bogs or any other "nice" things then just don't enter. All these things make the Hell series award handsome bragging rights to those that complete them! There are plenty of other "nice" races about.
It was hard as Hell and I loved it.
