In short: An amazingly race in every respect. Even more credit down to it being the first
In full: Pros
Great start location
People of Brighton supporting everywhere and were lovely
lovely course, rare to find a road race with such lovely and varied views at every mile
I went to one of the information days in the January before - highly recommend this for the people, info, talks. The organisers mum did a talk on training which was one of the best talks I've ever had.
There guys had everything covered - everything!
Fab website for info, even an iphone app which was great for updates and getting info.

Cons
Pens too small at the start and took us near the back about 15mins to get to the start. Maybe a waves in future?

Whoever spray painted 'the wall' on the arch near the power station has obviously never experienced the wall. I was unfortunate enough to hit it round that power station and seeing that did nothing to help my mind and my attempts to force positive thoughts.

PS The one thing I might add, which it by no means suffered for being without, but an event of this size in this location would do a fab evening post-event party or evening fireworks or something.

In full: I found the whole Brighton Experience to be amazing (hence I'm doing it again next year!) Hills in the first 10 miles, but then relatively flat. Lots of drink stations, entertainment good, loved 'the wall' at 20 miles. The spectators were fantastic , so very supportive! Excellent PB potential! Fantastic London Marathon alternative. Only positive words to say..... Can't wait until April 10th 2011!!!!

In short: Oh, I do love to be beside the seaside!
In full: My first marathon and definitely not my last. Wow, what a day. Despite minor hiccups (like not enough porty-potties or man and bike standing in front of my final dash along the promenade)this was a fantastic debut (both for me and Brighton). The crowds were amazing and really helped me to keep going. I had promised myself to run the entire 26.2 and, with the superb support, I managed to do it. Yes, the power station was not so pretty, but it is all about balance. You will never appreciate the beautiful things in life if there isn't a little ugliness along the way. So, I say, keep the power station in. Like a delicate butterfly emerging from the chrysalis, once you get through this bit of the race, you know you are headed for a glorious finish. See you in 2011 ...

In short: My first Marathon and it was a wonderful experience - looking forward to next year!
In full: Despite the aches and pains I had a great time. The course was excellent, mainly flat and with a variety of scenery, and the crowd support was fantastic. I've already entered next years race and can't wait to do it all over again!

In short: Excellent Marathon
In full: It's all been said. Great first marathon for Brighton and the organisers - and with improvemnents already mentioned by organisers should be even better next year. Weather was perfect (where was the wine/breeze: so lucky!) Yes Power station loop was tough but last 3 miles made up for it and what a great atmosphere at the finish, almost a "natural amphitheatre". Well done Brighton - already in for 2011!
