In short: An enjoyable race In full: This race was so much better than the Liverpool Womens 10k earlier this year. Both the route and the organisation were generally good and the only daft thing was presenting the results in line-crossing rather than chip-time order. I hope that this means that road racing in Liverpool is on the up again. Date of review: October 10, 2006

In short: Good race enjoyed it In full: Pre race instructions were good, with clear direction. Parking and direction pre race again good. Once again not enough toilets Thinks 2000 people all taking on fluid all needing the use of a toilet and plan numbers on that. Course was ok. The waterfront has got to be brought back though. The big dig will some day end, lets get back as soon as possible!!. What is this chip and offical time thing. I know what my watch said and that of those finishing with me and it's slightly skew to the official time.
Thanks to all those who gave up time to help make it so. Will be back 2008 is coming so LIVERPOOL lets make these events world class. Date of review: October 10, 2006

In short: 1st timer In full: Really enjoyed the race. Good atmosphere. Starting point a bit confusing as not done before. Would have pushed further towards the front if had known how the final positons were calculated. Should be chip times not offical time. The road surface was not as bad as described and would definitely run there again. 3 mins off PB. A great experience and can't wait for the next one. More races please Liverpool. In short: Fast but a little uninspiring. In full: Whilst the course was a lot better than the tedious "out and back" route last year the suburban park location lacked something compared to finishing on the waterfront. The course was fast and although the road surface was a bit poor in places it wasn't anything which couldn't be dealt with. Must be someting about Liverpool - took 3 minutes off my PB doing the Tunnel 10K and further minute yesterday! The markers weren't too bad although there was at least one missing at the 7km mark and nothing between 9km and the finish. A 500m marker would have been nice. No timer at the finish line which is a bit of an oversight but most people have watches and the results were online pretty quickly afterwards.
Overall, not bad. Room for improvement but I'd definitely do it again.

In short: An unremarkable race In full: My friend and I have been coming to Liverpool for about 10 years to do the Liverpool 10K. We were very disappointed to find the route had changed and it was enclosed within a park, come on Liverpool can’t you manage to close a couple of roads for a few hours once a year?
As for the race itself, pretty dull really, hated the faster runners passing us on the loop part of the route, very disheartening, not sure what the 2 start lines were all about, as for the chaotic finish, less said the better. I see the Big Dig has been used as an excuse but in the past when this race was run in the Garston and Aigburth areas it was great, why not go back to that route? Where were the elite runners and celebs, Sally Gunnell started this race one year!
Someone has described it as a ‘fun run’, and I think that is quite apt, but if we had wanted to do a fun run/training type run in a park we could have stayed in Newcastle, and will do in future. It’s a pity because we have always enjoyed the whole visiting Liverpool experience in the past.

In short: Good flat course, lots of PB's. In full: Thought the organisation was OK, not fantastic, did manage to find water, medal, T Shirt etc and claim my bag all fairly quickly so no complaints. Overall a good run. Date of review: October 9, 2006

In short: Good Run let down by minor mistakes In full: After a lot of thought I did this run not a big fan of Runliverpool who staged it as I think they repeatedly get minor things wrong. The course was reasonable no stranger to Sefton Park so aware of the state of the roads. But it had a very tight start area and the signage was poor for those going to the race and those running. The end was the usual mess for a runliverpool event with no direction and only a big queue of runners waiting to be issued t/shirts and drinks. The overall organisation needs improving but more importantly this event needs a city centre backdrop and the lack of that this year no doubt contributed to the reduced numbers taking part. The lack of club runners meant this was a good run for first timers but dont know if that will be repeated next year. Date of review: October 9, 2006
