In short: Exactly what it said on the tin.
In full: Having done many road races and a few triathlons, thought I would give trail running a go and thoroughly enjoyed this race. The pre race information gave a very detailed course description and map, even including elevation, so for me the race delivered exactly what it said on the tin. I did find the combination of canal/woodland a challenge and will definitely be back next year to beat my time!

In short: Neither one thing nor the other.
In full: The name Dirt Half Challenge led me to hope that this would be an off road race over some challenging terrain. Although the race was almost entirely off road much of the terrain was flat and on surfaced footpaths.

An estimated 8 – 9 miles of the course was canal towpaths. The canal provided an attractive but less than challenging running environment. The remainder of the race ran through some very picturesque countryside and provided a genuine challenge. There was however only one hill of note.

The race was well organised and the marshalls were helpful and friendly. The absence of free showers was disappointing although the absence of Dirt made this less of an issue. (Showers were available at the near by pool)

In full: We just don't have enough trail running events like this, scenic, challenging and thoroughly enjoyable.

Can't wait until the next one.

Please note MK Athletics, this is how a race is put on for runners. Perhaps you should be talking to the organisers and get some tips....

In short: Fantastic trail course with great wooded section
In full: An excellent trail race with great scenery. Running through the woods in Stockgrove made my day. The marshals were professional and the event was very enjoyable.

Looking forward to running this again next year!

In short: The challenge was worth it.
In full: A refreshing change from the normal clubby road race type of event. Friendly feel, good organisation and a fantastic course. Although I carried a map and instructions as advised I didn't need them as the course was well marked and there were plenty of people to follow. Overall a very enjoyable morning out.

In short: Lovely scenery, challenging course, good organisation
In full: Great new race, good course with mix of fast canal side paths, and off road trails with one killer climb in the middle.
Having said it's no good for PBs I only narrowly missed mine thanks to the very fast canal paths so quicker than it seemed at the time. Will definitely try and do next year.
