In short: Tough race with both the course and weather throwing in their challenges
In full: This was the first time I had done Tunbridge Wells, having been turned away last year due to heavy snow fall. This year was better, but not by a lot! Snow flurries and icy cold wind added to the challenge along with the hills – particularly at 6.5 miles. Once past this hill, it was a lot easier. The organisation and marshalling was very good, and the amount of support good throughout the race. Like a lot of people, I was caught in the bottleneck trying to get from the hall to the start line and subsequently missed the beginning by more than 4 mins – but I’m sure this wouldn’t have been the case if it had been a bit warmer – and everyone wasn’t huddled in the sports hall until the last minute!

In short: Well organised and enjoyable race.
In full: Got caught up in the bottlenecks before the start trying to stay inside as long as possible and missed the start by three minutes. Other than that I thought it was a terrific route and the hill was thankfully not as daunting as led to believe!!! Managed PB as well but it's only my 6th HM.

In short: Tough but well worth it
In full: What is it with Tunbridge Wells and snow! Cancelled last year and this time round we had some driving snow flurries (or at least they seemed that way) but pleased to say the race took place! Great marshalls and good encouragement all round, fair amount of spectators too.

Facilities were great, able to go in tot he Sports Hall to keep out of the bitter cold.

The hill at Fordcombe is hard going but get to the top and it is fairly OK after that. Managed to take 2mins off my PB today as well with a 1.24 so, overall, very pleased with the day. Thanks to the organisers for a great race.

In short: Testing but worth it
In full: The start was hectic, many runners were bottle-necked so missed the start (you could tell who had as they flew pass you at about mile 2!). Other than that, a well organised race with great marshalling and support the whole way round

In short: CANCELLED
In full: It was right to cancel the race due to snow . But it is now the end of march and I haven't heard a word fron the organisers . It would be nice to know if we get a re entry next year or a refund - Thanet which was cancelled a week later is giving another race entry and a T shirt for this year

In short: Cancelling was the right decision
In full: It was a shame that the race didn't go ahead, but they made the right call given the amount of snow on the ground. Better to cancel than to risk injury, particularly if training for London. Cancellation was out of the organisers hands if police and medical teams withdrew their support due to safety concerns.
