In short: Enjoyed the run, though not much chance of a personal best as some of the hiils were hard work. Might be me being a stinge, but I thought the coffee and cake at the tea van were overe priced. Date of review: February 8, 2009
In short: third year running(no pun intended) i have done this race, some tough challenges & some good surfaces to increase your tempo on. shame about the weather compared to last year. a shoe in for 09 In full: would like to have improved on last year but not to be may be because of the cold and wind or just slowing down?.momento has improved and race is still a must from now on. marshalling was excellent, thanks to all who did such a fantastic job with loads of encouragement. c u in 09 Date of review: February 9, 2008
In short: Hills & Gloious mud In full: Great race, now way a PB course, pack yr off roaders u need em. Killer hill @ 5 mile that i could not run up. Too many 5 bar gates to negotiate / hop over, advertised as 10 mile ish I got it to 10.39 on my gps.
Overall a damm good race.....good to be off road Date of review: February 8, 2008
In short: Good, hard race but disappointing organisation In full: Most of the marshalling was excellent but my group were held up at a road crossing by marshalls for what felt like ages. We watched in disbelief as the runners ahead of us disappeared into the distance and those we had worked hard to get ahead of caught us up. Never seen that before. Date of review: February 7, 2008
In short: Well worth having a go to start the season off. In full: Well the intention is not to sight see but the scenery is rather good when you are a couple of miles out. My only gripe this year was the delayed start of ten minutes in the cold and the lack of a PA system. You could not here the starter giving announcements. My wife said the queue for the toilets was terrible.. but aren't they always? Date of review: February 6, 2008
