In short: Brilliant organisation- thanks Roberttown
In full: Had a brill race, everything seemed to be going well, even found the hills ok this year, but 3 mins slower than 2009, despite loads of regualar training. Must be old age. Ah well- have earned a lager tonight!

In short: Very tough but wholly rewarding.
In full: What a tough course this is. Almost 9 miles of regular hills. It is a great challenge though and very satisfying. The scenery was great and organisation first class. Roberttown are a very friendly club and I would recommend this to anyone. However make sure you train for those hills. Oh and I got a PB.

In short: Hilly and Hard. No fancy dress fundraisers here!
In full: A great challenging early season race. Small enough to retain the friendy village feel, the course is hilly enough to stretch most runners.

How Hilly is Hilly? Like beauty, hills are in the eye of the beholder. I train a lot over Winter Hill and tried to do a comparison using MapMyR**. The web profile made the hills at Liversedge look like gradual and even 3% ascents and descents. This is not the case!!! There are several long and sustained 10-15% climbs and even if hills are your thing, it's enough to slow you down.

You'll never get within 5-10 minutes of a PB (unless it's your first!) but it's cheap, it's friendly, the scenary is great and it was blimin good fun! And the cream scones made by the lovely ladies in the community centre were a welcome treat at the end.

In short: Cracking race
In full: The race start was very well organised with picking up off numbers from the local community centre. The start line was a few mins walk away and clearly signed. The guy at the start with the microphone was doing a great job!

The race starts with a good opening mile down hill not what i like as i know it will only mean finishing back up!

The first half is quite towny with a very steep downhill after 5 miles. Then the fun begins with a few big hills. Race mainly on roads or concrete footpaths more main roads than i was expecting and not really any off road sections. More up and downs to finish.

Overall a very well organised and friendly local race. (Not sure if there is any better routes tho to avoid some of those main roads!)
