In short: Knew it was going to be tough, but wow!
In full: Foul conditions but still a brilliant morning..great organisation meant I had a bit too long to wait around at the start. Thought it would take forever to get my chip and number but all very smooth. Great atmosphere and fantastic marshalls cheering you on. Felt more sorry for them than for us except for on those nasty hills! My first half marathon and so proud of myself and all the other Running Buddies from Thame for storming home in the lashing rain. Bring on next year! Nice tshirt too

In short: Hilly, hard, wet, muddy!
In full: Not for beginners! Had to pay for parking which wasn't advertised enough. A fellow runner gained a £25 parking ticket.

Entry quite steep seeing as there were no goody bags or medals.

After finishing that race I felt I deserved a medal.

Excellent support and very friendly race.

In short: Hilly, wet, windy, flooded - Great fun!
In full: I was thinking of not turning up for this what with the atrocious, and accurate, forecast but really glad I did. Great organisation and a great, truly challenging, route. Marshalls, and supporters were out braving the weather as well as us runners.

In short: Rain didn't dampen our spirits
In full: I love this race: running through the deciduous forests in autumn is just outstanding even when it is/has been lashing down with rain continuously, giving you huge puddles to splash through. The marshals were everywhere and always, always unflagging in their support despite the weather they had to put up with too. The long sleeved T shirt is far more welcome than a medal and has become my third but will not be my last. My only criticism would be that it would be nice to have a free cereal bar or chocolate bar for finishers after 13 miles of hills: the cost of tea and cookies from the cafe was steep, even at bargain rates operating when I finished

In short: Wind, rain and lots of hills. Great fun, but very challenging in parts
In full: Can't quite remember but felt like lots of hills to start for first 3-4 miles, some very steep downhill, a sort of flat, longer bit then a big bugger of a hill at about 9 miles, and another little bump at 10ish, then down to the end, by which point the legs were going to jelly. Strangely satisfying

In short: A great autumn challenge
In full: Everything ran smoothly. The wet and windy weather turned it a bit more into a cross country run and with no showers that I could find I was relieved to live nearby. Ran a PB despite the course and would have been nice to have a medal to celebrate this. Having said that, as a 2nd half-marathon it was great fun, well-organised, really friendly and a huge challenge!
