In short: lovely countryside, lovely race all this and Kelly Holmes!
In full: Lovely race. Well organised. Most marshalls were friendly, lovely crowds through the villages. A bonus of Kelly Holmes starting the race and handing out the medals. Will put in my diary for next year :-)

In short: My first half marathon I was determined to just finish without walking or stopping which is exactly what I did. Yes there were a few hitches particularly with the water stations for the back markers but these didn't stop me having a great day.

In short: Loved it, despite the heat!
In full: Considering this was the inaugural event, I thought the organisation was very good and everything seemed to go smoothly.

I really enjoyed the route - I'd call it gently undulating compared to the TW Half. The last 3 miles were tough due to the heat, but that's not the organisers' fault! My Garmin died on me the morning of the race, so I had to keep an eye on the mile markers to pace myself and they were easy to find.

Water stations seemed well placed, although agree perhaps one more before the finish. I agree with the comments about the start - perhaps space the time markers out a bit more. I ended up standing at the back of the 3 hr point, even though my target finish time was around 2 hrs, so did have to weave in and out of other runners for the first few miles. Didn't spoil my enjoyment of the race though.

I didn't get a PB but that was down to my lack of training - will definately be back next year and will train properly for it this time!!

In short: A challenging but very enjoyable event
In full: I thought this was a great event. I have seen a few comments about lack of water available but I didn't experience any of those problems. I also saw comments about the lack of support along the course but I found it to be excellent. Of course there were spots along some of the country lanes where support was missing, but this was more than made up from the support in Leigh and also in unexpected places along some of the lanes, which was uplifting. An excellent day made even more enjoyable with some great weather.
