In short: Love the race, very peeved it was shorter but guys sort out the parking. Lots of abandoned cars littered around and no marshalls helping to control the traffic which was at a standstill. Don't know how the peeps in the afternoon race got there.

In short: What was once a great event has out grown its self. They will have to limit the number of entres or move to somewhere else

In full: Did this last year and enjoyed it, this year was certainly shorter but still tough and enjoyable. I agree with the other comments the car parking was awful we queued to get in and It took us an hour to get out and back to the road. We were lucky in that we had a 4x4 some looked as though they were going to have real trouble. All in all a good race slightly spoiled by trying to get too many runners in.

In short: Smells like hell!
In full: First the bad point....the car parking! Manage to get into the muddy field to park then had a slippery time getting out but no real problems.

Now the good points. Fantastic fun. There were some quite surreal times on the run, like getting overtaken in a bog by a banana. Nice length of run with some silly hills, stinking bogs and great fun. Smiled all the way home!

Might do it again....if I can get rid of the smell from this one. :-D

In short: Can't help feeling that commercial profiteering has crashed this party
In full: Well, Hellrunner complete for the third year in a row. Immediate feelings are a great race from a route and participation perspective, but a complete shambles from an organisation perspective. This race is billed as 10 miles plus and for the past 2 years it has been about 11 miles. This year? 8.6 miles. What the f**k is that all about? If I am being cynical, did the organisers want to get race one out of the way to clear the start for race 2, scheduled for a ridiculously too close 1pm start. Another 2-3 miles would have meant even more overlap for finishers with the afternoon starters. Mind you, if the laughable car parking debacle had been sorted properly, people might not have been abandoning their cars on the main road to rush to the start. "Marshals" allowed streams of cars into Whitefield car park and then told us to leave again (via the single track one way route!) as they were using it for the PM race. Muddy fields didn't help, can't blame em for that but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to have foreseen that problem with recent weather!
I love this race. I live near the forest and events here are always great fun. Next year I pray that some lessons have been learned. Maximising profit by staging two 1500 runner events within 3 hours of each other was a disaster waiting to happen. I want my full 11 mile race back.

In short: Heaven is Hell
In full: Finished Hell Runner, best race on my life, around 10 miles on killer hills, falling down muddy banks and wading through 4 foul stinking, up to my chest muddy bogs. Especially when I fell arse over tit over a branch and got a gob full, great stuff. Finished in around 1 hour 30, or something like that. Delamere Forrest, I salute you

In short: the hardest and the best advebture running experiance you can have.
In full: The best goody bag and the best quality t shirt I have ever had also. I've done a few half marathons but this is far harder. I'd say this race is equivelent to about 15 miles. It say's 11 miles but it actually measures 12. Loads of fun and a great way to say goodbye to the trainers that have served you well throughout the year, cos you wont be able to use them again.

In short: Mud, Hills, more mud, more hills.
In full: Never laughed as much during a race. Fanatastic fun all the way round and surprisingly hard over the last couple of muddy, soggy freezing miles! This race sells out for a reason!

In full: Ok I should have trained harder but what a race. I've done easier marathons! Bloody good fun though, and very very muddy :-) Definitely want to do it again.
