In short: Good atmosphere and well organised. Shame about t shirt size!
In full: a Great day, good atmosphere and weather was surprisingly excellent. Fast course but lots of congestion at the many turn points was frustrating. Agree with comments about t shirt size - I'm fairly beefy for a runner but still swamped in the XL!

In short: Oh dear
In full: After trying to convince myself twice that this is a good race to do, I have to say I will not be doing it again.

Firstly, despite booking 3 months in advance, I never received a pack with my race number, timing chip and instructions. I rang them about this several times in the week leading up to the race, only to be met with the same answerphone message (reassuring that packs were still on their way out) time and time again. The night before the race when the pack still had not arrived, their office was closed.
I managed to get the chip etc on the day, despite spending the whole journey worrying about whether I would be allowed to race or not. That said, my chip time which I have now checked is significantly different (i.e. it is wrong) to my actual time - what is the point of doing a race when you cannot even be given a correct official time? I might as well have done a half marathon in the countryside rather than going all the way to Silverstone.

I found the course itself to be very monotonous - I felt like I was going round in circles and every part of the course looked the same. A treadmill would have done the job. I also found myself getting caught up in and being slowed down by large crowds, especially round the corners.

Regarding the finishers bag - surely a runner would be more likely to be of a smaller size, so why were all the t-shirts in Extra Large?

In short: Great Organisation & Location
In full: Great day - really enjoyed the venue and the organisation was really good on the day. Couple of minor gripes - firstly the disabled access for spectators was poor (and what there was was poorly signposted) and secondly (sorry, Runners World!) turned up to follow the 11 min miling group in prep for marathon. First mile was just over 10 mins then never saw the guy again - I finished at 2.20 which is below that pace. Did I get the concept wrong?

In short: Better weather than last year
In full: This is the fourth year I have entered this event and each year I use this race to judge how well i am doing. Each year I have got a PB. Excellent goody bag with a well designed T shirt although I would like the organised to note that not all runners come in extra large. Can it really be so difficult to organise different sizes?

The organisation was fantastic (again) with plenty of marshalls around the course to give directions, lots of ambulances (just in case) and water points and lucozade sports drinks given out as well.

the only thing missing is a decent sized crowd to cheer you on...

In short: Thanks to all the marshalls and their encouragement!
In full: Excellent organisation, and very friendly, encouraging marshalls (thanks to the one who said at three miles, "Only 10 to go!") This was my first half-marathon, and despite the lack of scenery, I really enjoyed it. Would agree with the other comments about the t-shirt only being in XL - think I can fit my entire family in mine!!
