In short: They don't come much better!
In full: Having competed in the Datchet/Dorney Dash since its beginning, the Lake venue is fantastic compared to the old trudge round the A4 and other local roads in Slough. Cannot fault the organisation. As a very long time runner I have tried to work out how I never achieve the time I expect on this pancake flat course. Indeed my best Dorney Lake performance came in an Asthma 10 km on a cool, windless, misty morning- so perhaps thats the answer. I have also seen theories that long straight flat courses are not always the quickest because of the boredom effect. Will analyse further next year!

In short: Great PB course
In full: As a former rower I have been to this venue close to 100 times I would have thought so knew what to expect. 2k rowing courses tend not to be overly exciting places but do offer pancake flat courses and no traffic. Really enjoyed the race and found there to be a full range of abilities. I did find that the heat got to me a bit in the 2nd lap and perhaps I could have hydrated better at the water stations, but overall a very good event and I'm looking forwards to doing this again next year where I hope I can smash my time from this year.

In short: Just missed a PB
In full: I don't think I can blame the course or organisation though. I thought i was going to enjoy this even more than I did. The long stretches, as one other reviewer has already said, are pretty dull - and I do prefer a bit of shade. Still brilliantly organised and can easily manage the numbers.

In short: Good flat, quiet (traffic free) location & well organised.
In full: Nice setting - open space, flat & traffic free, with good PB potential...if only I had not run the Yateley 10k the Wednesday night before!!! Great goody bag & a nice medal. Will be back next year - many thanks to the organisers, marshals & pace setters. Must remember the sun cream next time...

In short: first time on this event but found it a bit bland, flat tarmac path for 10k around a featureless man made lake. g
