In short: first ran this race in 1983 and 16 times since
In full: this year i was a supporter @ the 200m to go
and after reading a few remarks. i like to add mine as a non competing runner
we arrived at 7.20am and found like many that the parking was poorly signed . on top of this 3 pounds which they fogot charge the first several cars in .
sencond the toilets where dirty and had no loo roll that early in the day.
then 2.50 for bus into newcastle this should be free . and its high time to have a cut of time far to many walkers.but then again when you have carol voderman saying it i only ran 2 miles and walked the rest only took me 4 hours its giving out the wrong message.
all so found as with london marathon you have bbc basis towards there mates who are running it.
and the prat who was giving commentry at the race end was a a joke a bad one at that who hired him. made us northern folk look thick
he had no idea about the run
and he could not get the crowd going.
i may never run this one again ,next year i going to volunteer to marshal as its a free
nike jacket and 50 pounds .a better deal than 35 pounds and no xl shirts left free parking and food.

In short: Take for what it is and you will enjoy it
In full: With a bit of careful planning the day can go very smoothly. Great atmosphere and the pen system at start is great

In short: Excellent race, clockwork organisation, magnificant atmosphere.
In full: The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was like nothing else, and the organisation couldn't be faulted.

Although the course was quite hilly - it didn't feel like there was any downhill until you got to South Shields - it was more than made up for. The last mile was amazing with the crowds to pull you through, and I really did have to dig in deep to beat Scooby Doo!!!!!!!! (excellent run by him by the way)

Would recommend by anyone, although if you don't get a good start there's no chance of a PB (too many people)

In short: Another Great Race
In full: I turned up late due to the horrendous queues and finished up at the back - went through the gate at 13 minutes - so was never going to do a fast time - very disconcerting to be running behind people who simply stop and start walking - highlight was touching sir bobby hand. Downside was the 45 minute wait trying to move 100m down into beach road.

In short: FUN FUN FUN
In full: My hubbie ran it this year and loved it. I held the bags. Goody bag OK but WHY NO XL SHIRTS NOVA? RUNNERS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES YOU KNOW. Hubbie cannot show off his shirt - despite running a respectable 2:35 he was told all the XL shirts had already gone (as he asked 'what, had all the other fat people got to the finish before me?'

In short: FANTASTIC!!
In full: Had a fantastic time, worth travelling all the way up from East Kent to do it! Great crowd, loved the atmosphere, so many people doing personal challenges (and as for the comments 'people should run and not walk' well some people can't so should still be able to take part - there was a woman on crutches near me at the start, it's a bigger achievement for her than it is for the fast ones at the front!!). I would do this race again next weekend if I could!!!

In short: amazing atmosphere, especially at the start. like a moving party!
In full: organisation of baggage buses needs rethinking. more toilets required. nice quality t-shirt in the goody bag but what about some food! we'd just run 13 miles, and I for one would have appreciated an energy bar/ cereal bar/ or even a mars bar!
but i'll be back - despite the round trip being about 9 hrs.
